This game will be won or lost by the role players(not Nuss or Jackson) Beechwood has 6 or 7 skilled guys who are not great but can all hurt you at anytime and from anywhere on the field. Their confidence is high and they will be the difference. Especially on D. Comparing scores and opponents did not work in the 70's,80's or ever. Beechwood is a complete 180 of a team from then. I would also mention that they seem to be in a better place mentally and have put off the field issues behind them.

It was a fun game to watch. Mayfield played hard. Beechwood should have put the game away early. As I stated..squandered opportunitys (many). Beechwood should not have put their self in the position to have to score on their final drive. They were much the best that day and could not overcome the tough effort of the Cards. Beechwood stays out of their own way ? They win this one.

Beechwood wins this by double digits. Beechwood was much better last year and squandered too many opportunity's. Just plain choked (on and off the field). I do not think that will happen again. I was impressed with BW defense last week against Frankfort. FF had 3 very good athletes that were essentially shut down when it really mattered. Beechwood has been their own worst enemy all year and are peaking at the right time. Low scoring for these two. BW 35 May 20. Z5

Gary played in the late 70's and went to EKU. "the Kamikaze kicker" he would purposely place the ball on the 1 yard line ...then knock your brains out ! Brother Jeff was a kicker in the early 70's. Son Joey I think is a Grey shirt recruit for EKU...enrolling in January ? Z5

Since 1984 Beechwood has had only 2 or 3 DI players: Tackett in 84 and Hergott in 94/95? I think thats it. It's been done many,many,many times I'm sure.

Exactly....Look at it like this, UK can sign @25 players a year, of those 25 only a handful at this point would be considered "SEC Caliber" the rest are pretty good athletes or have potential plus you have to look at the politics involved as well. Offering a NKY kid early is politicly correct for UKs staff. If you want to question anything it should be his "Football heart and desire" not his size or athletic ability at the SEC level.

Killed?? Just like Craig Yeast or Dougie Allen or D Abney?? Size for an athlete (WR) is way overrated....you just have to be quick enough and smart enough so they don't get a clean shot on you.

Highlands has played up in the past but currently are right where they fit in. The classes are all divided equally not by a number threshold. Highlands avg. enrollment over a the two year period for classification was higher than the avg. enrollment for 3A. So they have a ways to go before they would be 2A. Make sense?

The first time I saw him play my 1st question was does he play football? He is very athletic for his size. Great hands and great feet. Total athletic control of his body. Very impressive for a big kid. He has a football attitude.

That was my 1st thought as well but even still..... With that type of talent it seems to me the should have no equals........I played with one DI player and against several. It's unimaginable to think a team has 6 DI and 5 IAA players in the same class and lost.

I can think of a few reasons but....How can you send 11 football players to the next level (6 DI) and lose any games? Cincy St. X has sent only one to this point. Someone enlighten me.

If you were a head coach? Would you want Mike Yeagle on your staff when you know he has designs on becoming a head coach again...a built in replacement ? I would think not. I think his presence would be intimadating for most.

Last I heard he is subbing full time in the Boone Co school system. I think its going to be difficult for him to get hired as an assitant becouse of his desire to become a head coach again. You can figure out why. Mike will be fine.

Article says Yeagle had 6 titles. I will correct that error. He has 8 titles and 2 runners-up. Article has encouraging quotes from coach Rash. Nice to hear. :thumb:

You need to re-read my post...the committee did nothing WRONG. I happen to know of another who in MY OPINION would have and will someday make a real good head coach. This candidate PLAYED with and against to many to count NFL players.... Thats prolly why I took exception to the stated Bio about coaching with former NFL players....BIG DEAL. As for Rash I think he will do a good job. But if he was such a sure fire can't miss candidate ??? What took them some long?
