Congrats to the Cards!! This win does not move SC to the top of the 57th! The only thing that this win tells me is that any one of 5 teams could win the 57th on a given night and that no one can know who the 57th will send to the regiona!! No 57th team is safe from another on a given night.

No there should not be a separate All A for private and public. Most of the private schools are small and this is not a big deal. I'm sure that when you look at the Sweet Sixteen pairings, the privates won't make up a big percentage!

Congrats to the Musketeers on a MAJOR upset!! I have said all along that Russell is not the favorite to win the Region as many Devil fans keep trying to say. Russell started slow and now they are healthy, but they still haven't proven to me that they are one of the top 3. Of course they have a chance as do other teams, but they aren't in my top 3 favorites. The Boyd Co. game should shed some light on their current progress. This game could have been a fluke, but it sure doesn't help the Devil posters argue their case.

Didn't mean that literally!! Don't take things so serious! I always think a Region title and a trip to Rupp are worthwhile and great for the kids and fans. And no one is more confident than me. But you have to be realisitic too, and I was just stating my opinion about the draw as anyone else on here has a right to do. Naturally I'd prefer to see the 15th draw a weaker region, wouldn't you? But we all know the odds of winning against the competition the 15th will have to play, especially since the 15th is down this year.

I think you mean 2 of 4 - Monroe County and Paintsville are public schools. Only St. Mary's and Rose Hill are private.

P-burg is playing really well right now, so I don't expect a blowout. However, I believe that Morgan is a better team and the home court advantage will prove too much for the Blackcats. I'll say Morgan by 6, give or take!

Looks like a pretty good draw for the 16th, but the 14th and 15th might as well stay home! The 15th most likely will be one and done!

No big surprise! I'm not worried about the Tomcat season because it is a disaster already and probably won't get any better. I just hope that Ashland can get by Rose Hill in the District!!

If Paintsville had wanted the 1st place trophy, then they should have won it on the court like they could and should have! It does no good to whine about it after the game!

Couldn't agree with you more on your response!! Any player with class would accept his trophy and keep it, whether it was 1st or 2nd. And no dispute from me as to the job done by the host Allen Central. BUT, as disgraceful as it is, it is a player's right to throw his trophy away. Just as a soldier has a right to throw away or sale his medals. But is is a very shameful and disrespectful thing to do. I'm sure that even if mad, BMR wouldn't condone this act. But that is all you can say about it. I would add that I don't personally know of any Paintsville players doing so, but can't say that any of them didn't either.

Two comments to make in response to your post: (1) If any Paintsville players threw their trophies away, I guess that is their right, but it is shameful. If you get a trophy you should be happy to get it. (2) As to cleanup, that is what happens when a school hosts a tourney. Just part of the job. If they don't like it, then they don't have to host it.

This debate is old!! I for one certainly don't dispute that Coach Trimble is a good coach. But sometimes, whether your replacement is better or worse, a change is needed. I think that JC needed a change, whether justified or not. I think that Coach Trimble is better off for it and I think that JC is better off for it. The problems of JC past are in the past. The problems of JC now are problems that need to be worked on. But JC is doing fairly well with what they have and with a new coach. It is the next couple of years that will tell us about Starns. Look at it this way, just because a divorce is best doesn't mean that the people on each side aren't good!! People and relationships can just get in a rut and not be fixable!

You are correct! RH is a team that Ashland could blow out or lose to on a given night! That is what the chances of Ashland going to the Regional come down to!

I support the Tomcats 100%, but they have dropped a ton of respect this year that has been built up over decades and it is someone's fault!! I know the players on the team are giving it their all, but are ALL the BEST Tomcat players playing this season??? And if not, then WHY??? I don't blame the players that suit up, but I do blame the others for allowing the program to be damaged!
