On a given night, anyone with talent can win!! It is the teams like Elliott that you can beat 8 out of 10 times, but that can knock you out of the tourney if they get hot!!

Lack of experience or leadership is not a problem Morgan will face this year! However, it sounds like Elliott may be the district favorite within a year or two!

The Lions keep rolling on. I can't wait to see the Morgan and Boyd game! I wonder if they will both still be undefeated by then??

Henry Clay had nothing to be ashamed of, losing in the semis to the State Champs! BUT, they did have more talent than the score against Trinity would indicate. To sum it up, they didn't play to the best of their ability in that crucial game, and they had some mistakes that cost them! And one thing you can't do against Trinity is make mistakes or lose your focus. That sums it up.

Does anyone want to predict which will be completed first - Paintsville's Field of Dreams OR Johnson County's new Carl Ripken and Babe Ruth fields?? Ha! Seriously, it may not be so funny!

You may be right! I think that Nathan Martin is the singles player to beat! Did they lose many girls from last years team? They sure swept through the Region last year!

Even if you claim that money is a factor, it still comes down to TRADITION!! Why do people want their kids to play football for Trinity or St. X - because they WIN and they showcase a players ability. There are other private schools that don't do as well in football and some that don't even have a football team. And why don't Trinity or St. X do as well at basketball?? NO TRADITION! Usually the money follows the tradition, whether it be public, private or independent!!

Congrats to Trinity!! I thought that St. X would win it, but I've been wrong before!!

What would you expect from an opposing school?? I know many schools in the same county in eastern Kentucky that wouldn't pull one another out of the mud!

No doubt HC would have to have been the favorite! They would have played better against Trinity too, but for the turnovers!

No big surprise! I have said all along that NCC would win this one! Somerset was a good team but just didn't have the talent. Paintsville was a good team and could have beaten Somerset on their home field if not for a blocked field goal and an interception deep in Somerset territory. Having followed the teams, it was easy to see that NCC was on another level than Somerset. On another note, Mayfield will be able to hold their own with NCC and should beat them!

St. X by 10+. No close one this time!! At least one private will have to lose in this game! Ha!

Lexington Catholic will easily win this one!! I'll take LC by 10+.

I sure would like to see Russell win and if they can I'll be right behind them all the way. But from what I know of Owensboro Catholic, they could beat Russell or Belfry or any other 2A team east of Lexington. So I am not going to be optimistic about the Red Devil's chances. However, I will add that Russell has come up with a few wins this year that they weren't supposed to have won!! So there is always hope!!

You have to give the Red Devils their due because they won! Congratulations! BUT, this game could have gone either way, as both teams didn't play to their best potential the entire game! I would say that if they played 10 times, 5 at Russell and 5 at Belfry, they would each win approximately 5 of the games. But Friday was Russell's night and they deserve it. The Red Devils season has been good (Boyd County let down excepted). They have done what they have had to do, including goiing to Northern KY last week and winning!! Then they got the job done last night by doing what they had to do!! Congratulations Red Devils!! Good luck!! You guys are the only remaining Eastern Kentucky team.
