I am tired of you trashing Coach Cravens. He is a good man. Coaching is tough enough without whiney so called fans. It is tough trying to make everyone happy, but it is worse with whiney fans. I can recall some years back, Highlands won the state title, in footbaal, and still their fans were upset with the coach. Try staying home.

I was told that Graff has a broken nose and I assume he is out for awhile. Kennedy could be iffy, after hitting his head on a Cooper player's knee. He still had a headache this morning.

The final for the Campbell- Brossart game should be 43-31.

I think the final was 43-41. Not a well played game. Brossart must of had 30 turnovers and when they did shoot they shot poorly. Campbell Co. had a lot of shots, but their shooting percentage was about 20% and they had a lot of turnovers as well. The game was tied 18-18 with 2/2:30 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Campbell Co. then went on a run taking a commanding lead. The only points Brossart scored for the first 4 minutes of the 4th quarter were 5 FTs.

While a new field would be nice, why spend taxpayer money to replace a perfectly fine facility? Work on the playing surface at the old field. Now if someone came up with a big donation to build a new facility, more power to them. And as stated earlier, the soccer teams have a great field to play on already. No need to waste taxpayer money.

Teegarden also taught social studies, leaving a social studies postion open.

I believe Coach Russell is looking to move to CCHS on his own terms. He has tenure at Newport and is well liked. Why make a move and not get what you want when he has the upper hand here, so to speak? When considering all that has gone on with this coaching position over the last decade or so, one should make sure he is in charge.

Did you see the thread, 2010 KABC Girl's Player and Coaches of the Year, about who was voted the Coach of the Year for the 10th Region?

Did he do these things you mentioned, but the players did not respond? A little movitation is always needed from a coach, but does a coach really need to rah-rah his players at this time of the year?

One thing I learned from when my daughter played, is that parents tend to think their child is going to play college ball and they know everything about coaching. I did not always agree with my daughter's coach, but she was told to respect him and do what he said. Maybe the reason Brossart wins is that they may have more talent and the girls listen to their coach and not their parents.

I did not see the Tori Wilhoit thread until after I posted the above. Is she only a junior?

There was a young lady for Williamstown that scored her 1000th point, but I did not catch her name. Someone said she may be the coach's daughter. Williamstown is not very big, but they handle the ball well and shoot well, as attested by the young lady who hit the six three's. The Ladycats had too many turnovers and missed too many close in shots.

Campbell County won, but I do not know the score.

Which part, about CCHS being a contender or Ryle? I'm going on what a couple of CCHS wrestlers told me. Or is there someone else out there that is just so far ahead of the competition that the state title is their's already? I should have said Ryle would be their main regional competitor.

It is my understanding that CCHS has 10 state qualifers returning for this season. And their main competition will be Ryle. Do either of these teams have a shot at the state title in Feb.?

It is my understanding that Kay Mudd is moving from the middle school to the high school to be the AD. Kay will teach some classes, as well as being AD, where Mr. Woofter was AD and taught no classes.

Scott Collins, long-time assitance coach, has been named the new head coach for the LadyCats after Coach Elliot's retirement. A hard working suppoter of girl's sports, I wish him the best.

I was told that Highland pitchers hit 5 Camel batters in addition to 10 walks. Camel pitchers hit 3 Highland batters in addition 8 walks. 8 hit batters in a game, would anyone know if this a record for 1 game?

I was told by someone who attended the game that the Camels were just not mentally into the game. Of 4 runners on 2nd base one was picked off on a line drive, another was caught off 2nd by a throw from the catcher and 2 runners tried to go to 3rd on balls hit to the SS. Outfielders missed their cut-offs, plus the starter in 3 1/3 innings walked 4 and hit 1. This person said that Anderson Co. has a good team, but the Camels were their own worst enemy in this game.

Ladycats could have scored 80+ points, but they missed a lot of free throws and good shots from the floor. If they can play for a full game, or about 28 minutes of good basketball, they should win the district. According to the banner in the 'Woodshed' the last district title was 1995. They might even win 1 in the region.

Mason or Clark win the region, unless there something like Mason - Clark winding up in the same regional bracket and someone upsets the winner. Other than CCHS having an outside chance there is no one else. Brossart may have the 'D', but look at their schedule. While they have a couple of good wins, when you take out CCHS, Mason and Highlands, their opposition have lost 70% of their games. Also, I have not seen Montgomery play. I know this is more a prediction for the region than rankings. I think your rankings are are good ones.
