An absolutely terrific athlete and person! Matt has represented himself, his family, and Ashland perfectly. I cant remember a player who played nearly every varsity snap for 4 years. Matt finished his Tomcat career in the top 5 all-time in rushing yards, total yards, and TD's. Im sure Matt will finish in the top 5 all-time scorers in Tomcat basketball history also. Without a doubt and truly great Tomcat.

HOD - Your constant criticism of everything Ashland this year is so worn out. Yeah, we had a bad year. Our first really bad year in 20 years, get over it! It may happen 3 or 4 times in your entire life, big deal. No one was more heartbroken after each loss this year than I was, but there will be plenty more seasons to come. The upcoming classes gained valuable experience that will pay off in the near future. There are also 3 very talented classes on the way. Coach Hart did what he thought was best for our team every practice, every game, and every snap. If you had all the answers to our football problems, why aren't you on the staff? You truly seem in the minority on this one.....

Buddy Biggs, hands down. He has the potential to be a bigtime coach statewide. I just hope we can hang onto him.

Nice game for the Tomcats who finish the season 6-1. The field was pretty wet and led to some fumbles for both teams. Don't know why Russell is 0-8, they didnt look that bad. But sometimes I guess a sloppy field can be an equalizer. Time to hit the weights!

There are so many problems with this post I dont know where to begin. Your idea of ethics/morals holds no water. It is simply your opinion and interpretation of what those words personally mean to you. Now onto the last quoted paragraph. I dont know how you have the ability to know what goes on at all public and private schools. To "ascertain" that only public schools have "a material number of various and sundry disruptions" while private schools have only "few and minor disruptions" is narrow minded and unrealistic. I'm simply looking for you to provide me with some facts rather than your opinion or interpretations. So far I havent seen any facts.....

Please enlighten me with FACTS about the learning atmosphere being "far superior" at RH, rather than your random opinion. What studies have independent "learning atmosphere experts" conducted at RH? Also moral education can take place anywhere, public or private. Moral education and religious education are two different things. To imply that public schools do not present students with proper morals is completely false. The attitude every school system should be holistic, and I would venture a guess that most are. The simple difference being that public schools do not get to choose those they educate. Which in my opinion makes public schools and their employess that much more selfless.

Who cares about dunking.......big deal. I would rather have 5 guys who are fundamentally sound, can shoot, play D, and can pass well, than 5 guys who might possibly be able to dunk if given a wide open fastbreak. I doubt we will see any drop step dunks, ala Mark Surgalski. Or any blow by you straight to the hoop dunks ala, OJ, or Marques Dawson.

He's by far the most complete athlete in EKY and the 16th region.

Great Post, The last time Raceland beat Russell was 1969, 8-6. The game winning two point conversion was scored by one Kenny Clark, (70) Raceland graduate. He is the father of former Russell RB star Kasey Clark. Kenny's wife Lynn has been a teacher at Russell for 35 years, and his oldest son Jason is the current Lady Rams Volleyball and Softball Coach at Raceland and teaches elementary PE at Raceland. Jason (1994) grad played for the Rams. Thanksgiving in this household will be very interesting this year. By the way Kenny will be at the game wearing orange Friday night:thumb:. Like you said their are alot of deep ties to this game and to the area of the 4 communities.:ylsuper:

Thanks! I've been wanting to know his name for a while. He is elusive, with good speed, and hits the hole quick. He could make a great backfield in a couple of years with Carter and Alber.
