Final. First boys game played in Boone's new gym, anybody have any stats or info? Did Boone missing football players play an impact?

Boone Co. 27 Ryle 17 (6A)
^Even after the weekend, sounds like a bunch of sour grapes out their in the U, funny how Ryle is so much better and dominating you would think they would have atleast pulled out one of the games with that much domination. Go Rebels!!

Madison Central/ Boone County
Suprised to see day before the game and no talk of Boone County, they are in first place correct? This is senior night, I believe the Rebels will come out with a win.

Boone County/Henry Clay predictions
Not very familiar with Henry Clay this year, any thoughts?

Conner?
Who cares? Why do you keep making threads about Conner, their varsity football team has proven nothing this year and is definetely not much to talk about.

NKY Stars That Played In LLWS?
I played one year in little league and that was 10 years ago lol so I think that it's been around for a little while..

Bluegrass Baseball Club Scholarship Fund
Actually Coach G..Lueke did so well in Rookie league that he was moved up and is currently pitching for Clinton in Class low A....Awesome to see him doing so well. I have talked to him recently and he seems to be loving the experience right now in pro ball. The Texas organization likes him and it is looking like he will go play Fall/Winter ball to get some more work in.

Tryouts
yes old guy that is who Towles is. He has a lot of potential. Did well for the Bluegrass organization this year and it is unfortunate he will be most likely joining the colonels and leaving bluegrass. But you gotta do what you gotta do and I know Bluegrass wishes him well.

NKY MLB Draft History
Wera is still at William and Mary..Played a little with him this summer. His summer was cut short by a Torn Labrum. Hopefully he will make a speedy recovery. He might be seeing some time at first base for W&M this year.

2007/2008 Conner
yes it is true, he is moving on to gallatin county

9th District Next Year
The highlands pitcher would be Thomas Towles. Has got a good arm with good stuff. Tends to be a bit wild at times. But if he is on this summer atleat he has been solid.

Top Ten players in the Ninth in 08
Heard from a pretty reliable resource that Courtney Anderson will be playing for Gallatin County next year, not the cougars.

Kentucky Colonels
think Midland Indians play in a wood bat world series at the end of the year...That could be a reason why they were using the wood the other night.

Kentucky Colonels
Old guy......Sorry for the late post about Corey and his Midland Catching situation.....It's actually a 1A and 1B type deal. They have 3 maybe 4 catchers on the roster to be exact. Corey and a guy from Moeller can't remember the name but he is attending Ohio State next year share the catching duties on a regular basis. From Corey, him and the Ohio State guy switch off regularly and during the tournaments. The other kid that catches is a brother of one of Midlands stud players. It was a package deal between the 2 brothers so the stud could get on the team. Corey told me they try to get him behind the plate whenever possible. He said the coaches also for Coreys versatility play him in the Outfield whenever he is not catching, just so he can get some work in out there since he may be playing in the OF at the next level...Just giving you guys some info.

Ryan Hall Signs With Ohio Valley
Played for OVU my first 2 years...If Ryan is ready to work hard and give his best every single day he will definitely enjoy being apart of the program. Coach Shank and Coach Porter are both top notch guys and good coaches. I wish the best of luck to Ryan as he joins the team next fall.

CovCath 4 Boone County 0
Everyone is right on about the game tonight!! Every post I have read has been accurate and on the money!! I will throw my 2 cents in there...This may have some bias coming from a Rebel but I will keep it real. - The 2 pitches called for balls in the first inning....:fight: WOW!!!!!!!! Beautiful pitches that were called strikes all night long. Most of you have agreed. The umps did a great job all day. And they guy behind the plate for this game did a fine job as well. But I was right behind home plate and those pitches were definitely strikes. Might have made a huge difference in the ball game. And IMO was the momentum changer......My props to Krohman he pitched a great ball game. And to be honest I thought he was near dominate after the first. Only a couple more Colonel balls hit hard the rest of the way. One exactly the double in the gap that made the score 4-0 was a killer......Not scoring Corey in the first also hurt the Rebels to. - Boone hitters IMO were all over Bleser but hitting the ball right at people. I have been home now for 3 weeks and that's the best I have seen them hit since. Hit a lot of hard shots that couldn't find the holes. Obviously a key factor in the game. I won't say the better team won because I just can't do that to my boys. But the colonels are tough! If I had one word to describe Cov Cath it would be SOUND and that can win you a lot of ball games!!!!! They didn't do much at all against Krohman but were still having good Ab's and were making the most of there opportunites.....Defensively nothing spectacular but SOUND Ex. Holocher and Popham were good all night. OF's were making all the many routine plays. Basically all the routine plays, they made with ease and looked solid doing it. Typical of what you can expect from a Cov Cath baseball team, doing things the right way. Bleser tonight was good but from having seen him for 3 years I didn't think he had his best stuff. Not a radar gun but I would say 80-82, the curve was okay but not as good as I have seen it, and same with the other stuff. But what makes him so good is that he has been there before many many times. He battled without his best stuff, kept composure despite this which showes poise, and he found ways to get the OUTS even if Boone was hitting balls hard....The Colonels do things the right way. I wasn't overly impressed but fundamentals and solid play can go along way. It worked tonight and if they keep it up might work the rest of this tournament. Enjoyed this baseball game, wish my team could have pulled it out though...but congrats on the victory and good luck the rest of the way!!

Ryle 8 Boone Co 3
Hughes went 4, Weiss went 2, and Sebald went 1. Update of Mark Reed's injury: His Xrays were negative, but he has a cast on the glove hand, which the doctor told him to leave on for 6 days. I am betting it will be off by Monday. The hand was smashed under the fielder's cleat when he stepped to make the tag on the play at second. Nothing intentional, just a baseball play. Mark reported that the player, Humphrey or Wagner, I can't recall which, immediately said sorry several times. Congratulation Raiders. Hope to see you next week in the finals again.

Boone County 7 St. Henry 5
Senior RF Kurt Kordenbrock blew open a 4-4 game in the top of the 5th with a 3 run double to the right center field wall to lead Boone to a 7-5 win over the Crusaders in the 33rd District Semi. Mark Reed had 2 hits, including a double, for Boone and also drove in 3 runs. Brad Krohman went the distance for Boone for his 8th win of the year, allowing only 1 run over the last 4 innings. Cory Farris added 2 hits, including a double, scored 2 runs, and had a SB. Solid, team effort for Boone, who bested St. Henry for the first time this year. A full house of several hundred fans saw a good one today in Florence. Boone faces Ryle tomorrow at 5 PM for the District title.

Other Scores?
Anyone got any info on Bellevue vs. Newport?

Ryle 6 Conner 0 (33rd Dist. Semi.)
Final. Jeff Hatfield went the distance for the win. Diamond Dandy will, I am sure, complete the thread.

Cov Cath vs Holy Cross
I heard 6-2 Holy Cross early, but I am looking for updates/final, too.

Boone County 16 Dixie 11
Missed some of the game so details are lacking. Nichols for Dixie hit 3 HRs. Brad Krohman put one on the roof of the school for Boone.
-
Boone County 10 Simon Kenton 2
Boone rode the right arm of Junior Nick Houlehan to a clean as can be victory over SK today. Nick went 6 strong innings allowing only 5 hits and striking out 2. He allowed the 2 runs, one each in the first 2 innings, but only allowed 1 hit after the 2nd. Tony Krohman pitched a perfect 7th. Everyone seemed to contribute in some way for Boone at the plate, highlighted by 2 hit from Kurt Kordenbrock, Cory Farris, and Brad Krohman. bHits from Brad and Cory included a double for each , with Cory driving in 2 runs with his. Soph Brian Robertson stays hot with a BB, double off the wall, and 3 runs scored. Kordenbrock drove in 2 runs. Boone is at CovCath tomorrow with B. Krohman going for his 8th win at 5 PM tomorrow for all you true HS baseball fans.
