Trust me.... I'm not trashing Rockcastle! I'm defending the region..... I LOVE watching Sarah play! She SHOULD win Miss Basketball and hopefully Rock (or whoever comes out of the 12th) wins it all! I'm a personal friend of Coach Noble! She is a great coach but I've always been a 12th region fan!! With that being said this debate is over how strong our region is. Should Rock win it? Absolutely! Is the rest of the region a bunch of weak, not well coached and no skills at all set of teams? Heck no... I'm comparing them across the board in the state. I know all you guys (leg17, NearUS150 and Rednack) are Rock homers! That's great... Everyone needs to have a team to defend but I would think you guys would want to ENCOURAGE how good the region is as opposed to tearing down the other teams. I just don't get it....

If you are going by that then yes I agree that the 12th isn't that strong but honestly how many regions have multiple teams with the ability to play on Saturday morning? I would say not many! 1st, 2nd and 3rd have no one that will play on Saturday morning. 4th has one team (Bowling Green) with an outside shot, 5th has two with a chance (Marion and E-town) but their number 3 is Hart and they are at 80, 6th has 1 (Butler but that's a long shot), 7th has 3 (Manual, Mercy and SH) but that has to be the strongest in the state, 8th and 10th has no team that can go to Saturday, 9th has two (Boone and Ryle), 11th has Scott County but they are out of the top 10 so it would have to go just right for them, 12th has Rock (with Lincoln being a strong team but Saturday morning is a stretch), 13th has Clay but no one even close to them, 14th has Perry Central and no one close to them (Both of those teams would be a stretch for Saturday morning) and 15th/16th has no one. With those stats only the 7th has a legit shot of multiple teams that could win region and advance to Saturday morning. I would say the 12th still wouldn't be classified as "weaker than most." With your comment about Rock, Lincoln and Casey. Heck, they were #2, #3 and #?? respectively. I'd say not only was it strong it was one of THE strongest in the state but I'm sure I've screwed this up as well....

Really? Next time you get a chance look at the ratings that come out. Take the #8 team in each region (that is normally the middle of each region) and compare them with all the other number #8 teams. It will give you an idea of the sort of balance that the 12th has. The 12th has TWO regions (11th and 7th) that their #8 team has a higher rating. That should mean that the 12th isn't as "weak as any this year." By the way, this was taken from Friday's edition of the courier journal and Rock was #3 and Lincoln was #18. Not bad for a region "as weak as any" in the the state!

GRC vs. Christian will be a battle! Would like to see that game!

Rock is no doubt the odds on favorite to win the region! They have all the parts and arguably the best player in the state on their team. With that being said, I wouldn't overlook anyone in a one game situation in the region. In a NBA 7 series match up there isn't anyone in the 12th that can compete with them. In a one and done situation strange things tend to happen! I still think Rock wins it but they will have to battle!

Heartbreaker..... You aren't saying much about Coach Jones now that they beat West. You were all smiles before. I guess Coach Jones, which it is obvious you don't like, just had a good night. lol

They are playing tomorrow (May 27th) at the University of the Cumberlands. The Junior team plays at 2:00 and the Senior team plays at 4:00!

Sorry I'm just now getting in on this but here is my take: 1.) I would love to see high school have the monitor but that is just not possible with some of the schools. They don't have the technology or money to get that in all gyms. 2.) The ref's in question know now that they missed it. Do you not think that is enough and suspension is a crazy thing to ask for? Cut them some slack because I'm sure you've made at least ONE mistake in your life. I've had Bo Queen work some games for me and I will tell you that I think he is a great official. He may have had the best angle but from C he is watching for a foul not if the final shot is good. That is trails call. 3.) You folks that are bashing Bart Lenox are in another world. The Berea fight.... Have you ever seen Berea play? They are as rough and physical as any team I've ever seen. That could happen to anyone. You must not have watched the Christian County game Bart hard Wednesday. As good, if not the best game that's been called up here yet! We all know that's crazy to bash him.... Come on!

Rock pushes the ball as well as anyone in the state and even though Hammonds and Alexander get a lot of praise (which is well deserved!) their guard play is very solid as well! I look for Rock to advance on to Saturday morning!

Great ball game. Two really good teams slugging it out. I thought both teams played really hard. Rock just made more plays down the stretch. 3's by Lawrence and #31 with about 3 minutes to play was tough to overcome as well as offensive boards by Hammonds.

Wow.... I hate it for Coach Jones. I was really hoping to see him get to Rupp this year.

Central can't make a shot. Mercer is playing some pretty good defense!

And Southwestern has someone to guard Hammonds and Alexander? I'm just making the point that I'm not sure ANY team has someone that can guard them. If you just trying to make a case for one side or the other I'm not sure I agree. I think Lincoln's first game is obviously a good one but their second game is easier than Rocks. Lincoln smashed SW and Rock beat Mercer by 5-6 this year.

And the last two times Rock played Casey Rock won by 8 and LOST by 1.... Look at the second round... Don't you think Rock would rather play SW than Mercer?

Rock beat Casey by 26!! Did you not see that score?? East is 12-15 and SW is 19-9....

The combined record of the teams in Rock's bracket are 56-26.

Glad to see Hack back playing for the Lady Generals. They are going to be a team to reckon with coming down the stretch....

They lost 4 of their 5 starters. The one starter that is back didn't do much of the scoring. They lost probably 95+% of their scoring. Their former coach did the program no favors. He started two seniors on the JV team and didn't prepare anyone for the next year. I guess that happens when people are more caught up in the now and not worry about the future. Unfortunately for the coaches they have now their players have no experience. I think it's just the fault of the former coach.

Coaching changes help in some cases and hurt in others....

Good for Coach Jones! I think losing Coach Hammonds is going to hurt West more than people realize.

I think Sayre is a lot better than people are giving them credit for! Coach Sutton does a nice job with those girls.

How long do you honestly think Coach Thomas will stay there? You would have to think it would be for a short time....

Look for the Lions to have a break out game! Coach Scenters will have the team ready to play. Don't be surprised if this is the week that quiets the "naysayers"! To see all the negative comments in the Garrard/Lincoln thread about Coach, the staff and team in general is disappointing at best! I know there are MANY teams across the state that would love to be in the position of hosting a playoff game. Let's all get together and pull for the TEAM and COACHING STAFF!
