Of the two favorite teams to win this region, Lincoln and Rock, I'd much rather play Garrard and Mercer/Monticello winner than I would Casey or SW/East.

Not having been there to see the game nor will I be able to be at any of the regional games, I still wouldn't count out Casey County.

 

Coach Salyers will have his bunch ready to play Lincoln County. Who do I think will win? Lincoln COunty because its on their home floor and they're a little bit better but I wouldn't be surprised if Casey County were to defeat the Lady Pats.

 

I was going over the potential teams that I would love to see Rockcastle County draw and the one that I thought would be the most perfect scenario actually came to fruition. I'm not going to say that Rockcastle County will have an easy time getting to the finals because I think Garrard County will bring their "A" game as will Mercer County and Monticello should Rock get by Garrard.

 

Everything can look GREAT on paper but as you all know, this is tournament time and ANYTHING can happen.

 

I will most certainly be pulling for Rockcastle County to win the 12th Region Tournament, but I also want to wish all eight teams in the tournament good luck and remind them to leave it all out on the court. Play hard and represent your school, your town and your county with honor, respect and integrity.

The last time Rock played Casey was Thursday and beat them by 26. And no, I don't think Rock would rather play SW than Mercer. Mercer's big girl can't guard Hammonds and they have no one that can guard Alexander either. I think Rock breezes through both of those games. I think Lincoln will win both of their's as well, but I think the game with Casey will be a war, more so than any of the games Rock has to play. Plus if SW is hitting the 3's they can be dangerous. But if they are not, Lincoln will put them away early. That's just my opinion.

I watched both of these games. I don't know what you consider smashing, but the Lin/SW game was 59-44 final. SW led the 1st quarter, was down by 4 or 5 at halftime, was within 5-7 most of third quarter, Lincoln then pulled away late. Better game than final score indicates. In the Mer/RC game, Rock had a big lead for most of the game, about 24 at one time until Mercer made a late run to lose by 7 points. You must not have been at these games or you would not have made these observations. One thing I do agree with is Lin/Casey will be a war and SW/EJ will be a very good game as well. After the dust clears I feel it will be a Rock/Lincoln final, with Rock winning a close one.

Sportster, I believe you are right with a Lincoln/Rock final, I think it will be a great game this time around and not the double digit win it was when they played early in the year. I just have a gut feeling that this time around Lincoln will find a way to win. Either way, the 12th Region will be well represented at Diddle by Rock or Lincoln in the Sweet 16!
