Someone told me this group of Seniors have 4 Region Championships to their name. As freshman, sophomores on JV, last years Varsity as reserves/players, and now this year. Pretty impressive group. Congrats to all these young men and to the coaches. Adding baseball to the dominance of sports at Highlands!

Would CCH's loss to Highlands 7-0 be one of those games that shouldn't have happened. So with your 5 run or worse basis, CCH is a bad team. I think not. I agree with the 24-0 scores and what not, but that's just because of the quality of baseball in certain areas. Just like football. The usual suspects are just better than other teams and areas.

That's reasonable. Except for the fact that from behind the shortstop, the ump should have clearly seen the ball in the web of the glove and the runner still 2 steps away. But then again, he must not have. Either way, looks like that play didn't affect the outcome of the game.

Nice job LadyBirds on the win. But how in the wide wide world of sports does an ump miss a call that bad. I wasn't there but is there not an ump situated behind 1st or between 1st & 2nd? Maybe an official on here can clarify the ump positioning to where there is a situation that this could be missed. Just sayin!

Well, that depends TBirds. If SK won the 1st game by say 5-6 runs and Highlands only won the 2nd game by say 1-2 runs, well then, to me SK dominated. Right? Bahahaha! Looks like the edit feature was a bit too slow for our friend!

Curious what your Pioneers opponent's records are. Wait, I just happen to have it. SK's opponents winning percentage is .347. Looks like some teams play better competition. Have no idea, but was told that by previous head coach. Maybe he didn't know what he was doing. We went down this road one other time with Duffy. Isn't Weinrich a student of the coach that tore the program apart before? Maybe not. But this bit of info that was shared over the weekend isn't anything new. I was told this last summer as Highlands prepared for the upcoming season. Something about Weinrich wanting to cut numbers. Tired of babysitting. Something to that extent. We played with what, 67ish players and we had about 30-35 that played. The others were under the direction of some very competent assistant coaches. And I think we only had like 7 coaches total. Those assistants took care of the extra kids that just wanted to be part of the program. I see nothing wrong with that. Weinrich just needs assistants that want to do that particular job if it's a bother to him. There are plenty around. But quantity isn't always better than quality. Wait! That's this whole argument isn't it? Hahaha! Oh well. Coach Weinrich's the boss so what he says goes!

My only thought was since it's a non-cut sport and making it a cut sport. Maybe he has control, don't know.

I would think that Coach Weinrich would have to get approval from Mr Robinson or School Board right? And if granted, that would be because it would give Highlands a better chance to win? Let's say it doesn't work and Highlands doesn't win, does that mean the end of the Weinrich era? I would think so. Hmmm, very interesting off season topic. This could draw out some of the legends of BGP to post again. Just sayin my friend!
