I don't know much about Cov Cath or Sam Flynn, but I heard that he was looking hard at Georgetown.

With a lot of teams going and playing in bigger tournaments and inviting bettter competition into their own tournaments the 16th Region is making a name for itself this year. And it's not the pushover name it has been in the past. Russell taking #5 Mason County into overtime and barely losing, Ashland taking #13 Madison Central to the wire, Rose Hill going out and taking on anyone and everyone they can.

Euton and Jackson aren't in my top 5 because 1. Have yet to see them this season, and their position is just speculation. 2. They are both young and don't have the experience that the players ahead of them have. Now I know they've been playing varsity for a few years already and have played against good competition but IMO there is a mature factor that these older players posess and the last time I saw these 2 players their game hadn't matured...yet. But it's been a few years since I've seen them.

Thats about 21 DI A commits in Kentucky so far.

Don't get me wrong about Matt Daniel though. He is a tough player, I've watched him play for years, and when he's on he's almost impossible to stop. But when he's off, it can get ugly.

It's good to see Billy Blanton bounce back from a horrible shooting game against Ashland (1-11 from the field) to putting up 19 against a solid Rowan County team and hitting some big 3 pointers.

Woodford County not Wofford. Looks tough to me.

It's no doubt that 5/3 has the best teams in KY in it.

Thats one thing I love, teams that will go out and play anyone anywhere and anytime. You won't get any better playing little teams that you just walk over. You have to go out and play with the big boys.

Mcdavid has always been a silent killer. He doesn't have that showy type of game that some players have but hes a blue collar kid. Every game it's like hes packing a lunch and going to work. Those little putbacks and short jumpers are killing teams.

Was Male just bigger and stronger than GRC? From what I've heard GRC can get up and down the floor with anybody, so this score kind of suprises me. For the record I don't know much about either team.

One thing that impressed me tonight is how well Ashland handled Madison Centrals press. Wilcox and Thomas did a very good job of keeping control and staying collected under pressure, Mad Central has some tremendous athletes. Even though Ashland had 15 turnovers most of these were of them trying to force it inside.

This was the 1st Rowan game I've seen and what I came away with is that Matt Daniel, despite being a very talented player, tries to take over the game and it takes too much away from his teammates. Maybe I just noticed because he was forcing some shots and missing them tonight but thats just my POV.

Boyd won by i think 10, it was a very good game though. Boyd up 1 going into the 4th quarter, Matt Daniel was cold as ice, but Boyd played hard and had a very good showing.

Ashland has improved so much since their record was 1-3 early in the season. A main reason for it IMO is the contribution off the bench. Even if our starters get in foul trouble we have Coleman, Rose and Salyer who can step in a hit the big shot or get on the floor to provide a spark.

This senior class was a very good one, and had big numbers which will be hard to replace but IMO they have the people who can fill in. O line will be the big issue, with all 5 starters gone and many backups graduated.
