Madison Central 66 Ashland 62

Sounded like they were a couple of turnovers at the end from pulling this one out! Good showing for the team who has to be considered the tops in the region after this performance and the recent stumblings of Russell!:thumb:

Congratulations to Madison Central on holding off a game Ashland squad.

I have to say that Allen Feldhaus looks just like his dad.

AIT All Tournament team:

Rhodes from Madison Central

Wilcox from Ashland

McDavid from Ashland

Aaron Morris from Madison Central (also MVP)

Thomas from Ashland

Daniel from Rowan County

Selby from Boyd County

Fields from Madison Central

Martin from Rowan County

Aaron Cosby from Dupont Manual

Billy Blanton from Boyd County

Dean from Madison Central

Couple of side notes -

I thought Branham shot well in the tournament, hitting some key shots. I would like to have seen him make the all tournament team, but you can't take any of the kids that did make it off the team.

Aaron Cosby is a true freshman for Manual. Li'l Frances played on an all-star team with him for the first three years after we moved to Oldham County (playing in the St. Matthews league). He's a great kid, and his parents are as nice as they can be. You WILL be hearing his name over the next four years, so get used to it.

I don't think there's anyway that Ashland jumps all the way to the top of the region.

Thanks for the kind words, spindoc, but I have to say that the 16th has four or five teams that could win it this year. Unlike years past, I don't say that because the region is down. I think the way our region is playing in many of these tournaments shows that we are a pretty solid region, and we will probably be represented by a sound team at Rupp this year. Question is - which team will it be?

Frances

This game was closer than I thought, Central jumped on Ashland early and I think it was 16-4, when the foul count went to 9-1 and technical was given on the Central coach, that threw them out of sync, Ashland climbed back in it, and competed well. They handled the pressure pretty good and have improved since I saw them in the Ironton game. They looked better than Rowan County and Boyd this weekend. Madison Central is a legit top 20 team.

Maybe the 16th is better than people have given them credit for. Ashland, Russell, and Rose Hill have all faired well against the best the state has to offer.

Congratulations to Madison Central on holding off a game Ashland squad.

I heard at the game tonight that Dean and Morris from Madison Central are being recruited by Marshall U.

Morris is 6'6 and a junior, played very well.

Dean I think is a senior and dominated in the paint.

Officiating tonight.... nevermind.:scared:

By the way Ashland just keeps getting gooder and gooder. They be right there in the end I'm afraid.

Boyd beat Rowan by 11 points tonight and played well also.

I just noticed that I misspelled Aaron Crosby's name. It is Crosby, with an "R".

You had it right the first time Frances, its "Cosby"

Congrats to Madison Central on winning the AIT, and to Ashland for the 2nd play finish. Ashland is progressing very nicely under Coach Biggs, and will be a tough out come tournament time. On a side note, I heard the Hospitality Room had so much food left over that they will be able to feed the Blazer students for the next month. Someone should had checked on whether Frances was going to be there tonight before preparing so much food.

Thanks. I would have been better off leaving it as I first wrote it.

Ouch!! You sure know how to hurt a girl. This may be just the thing I need to get me started on that diet.

Too bad, because I was just getting comfortable in these 6XL stretch slacks I got for Christmas.

Retaining,

Frances

Who won the other games today?

Ashland has improved so much since their record was 1-3 early in the season. A main reason for it IMO is the contribution off the bench. Even if our starters get in foul trouble we have Coleman, Rose and Salyer who can step in a hit the big shot or get on the floor to provide a spark.
