The announced crowd was 6,300 I believe. The Manual side, as anticipated, was beyond capacity. The sightlines were not quite as bad as advertised, but were pretty far from ideal.

They tried it all. I mean it, everything. When the ball was snapped, there was a Tiger back there.

X lived in Manual's backfield. No adjustment could stop it (misdirection, up the gut, quick slants, long bombs, tosses, sweeps, traps, screens, they all were tried.) If you didn't see it, you probably can't believe how thoroughly the Tigers destroyed the offensive line for Manual. There's no way to lay this at Joe's feet. X completely owned up front.

I'm not so sure... we were never blown out, and we didn't have the off nights that turned into shoot-outs that this team had. But they deserve congratulations on a good season, and certainly on returning the Barrel. X destroyed Manual's offensive line, and that's the entire story. The defense for Manual couldn't stay off the field, and as the game wore on that was pretty obvious as they wore down (and no fault of their own, IMO the defense played great in the first half.)

And what, pray tell, do they do the other 20% of the time? :lol:

That we can agree on. The single reason Manual has struggled so much against St. X compared to their games with Male and Trinity in the past six years is that Manual couldn't keep the X defense honest with a solid passing attack. But, perhaps, Happy Gilmore has learned how to putt...

It's funny that in the same post that you claim everyone's giving Manual a shot, you say that if Manual does everything right, they can make it close, but if not X will take it.

Although king sized, Brian got it for three reasons besides stats: 1) Career play. 2) Willing Trinity back from the brink after a terrible start. 3) Being genuinely the best football player in the state of Kentucky (rare as a reason for Mr. Football sometimes.)

Yeah, a coaches poll of a four team district where you can't vote for your own team is a reasonable measure. X has been the favorite from the word go, in my book.
