  1. Nice Try. Might want to get your facts straight before you post. In the 80's, Soccer was a Spring Sport so it didn't have anything to do with Football. It did end with the change back to Fall. Beechwood averaged less than 250 students 9-12 in the early 80's. There is no way they could have supported Football and Soccer back then. The reason it can be done now is because there are more students.
  2. There is certainly a lot of chatter about Beechwood having an easy path with Mayfield in 2A. It's pretty short-sighted given the rise of other programs in recent years. Anytime a giant is removed it's easier, but it's far from "Easy".
  3. And why are you here? As this is a good portion of what is discussed on these forums.
  4. I find it hard to believe that Slusher from Beechwood isn't on this list also. That said, I don't know many of the other players
  5. Hope you are right about Schmidt. He's a good kid and I would like to see him do well. Quite frankly I just didn't see it. His Bat is pretty good, but defensively, he struggled in the games I saw and I got reports of same from other games. He works hard and gave up other sports to focus on Baseball. So I hope he earns that 3 spot you put him in.
  6. Not to take anything away from him, but Fieger isn't a 4-year starter. He played Freshman football and didn't play until the playoffs that year. He's very good, but I don't think he will be the Best QB in NKY. I hope I am wrong. In my opinion, he still panics too much. I do agree about the rest and especially Rowe and Hermes. The good news is that Rash and crew have a much easier path to State.
  7. How many starters do they lose? I saw someone earlier say they didn't lose much. I see this is as likely one of the biggest turn-overs for the Colonels, but maybe I lost track of the Juniors and Seniors. What is the insiders perspective.
  8. I love it when people like you have arguments with yourselves. Nobody is saying any of the stuff you are claiming. This is a thread for MF fans to tell us who they thought were better between WB and BW, yet you keep posting crap about Mayfield in it and making up stuff that others have said.
  9. Sure is nice to be on that side though, isn't it?
  10. Why did you post this in this thread? You are certainly not the type of MF fan we have come to love and respect.
  11. Hate = Respect around here. Take the hate as a badge of honor.
  12. The last line in NO WAY excludes the first paragraph. I think you are focused on the "Best Team" in relation to Beechwood having the Best Team over Mayfield or another opponent, but still losing. I'm talking about fans saying this is the Best Beechwood team since (Insert Year here!) I apologize for the unclear wording. You know me, I believe we have underachieved every year we don't make it to the Finals. We will certainly disagree as to the reason, but I'm sure that you agree that this is true for at least a few of the past 7 years. This year along with 2011 being at the top.
  13. Every Beechwood Fan should be barred from ever mentioning or discussing Beechwood as having the "Best Team" or being the "Favorite". I say this knowing that I have been a part of it. I will no longer. We start by saying this is "Best Beechwood Team since..." , followed by if Beechwood can _______________ they are the favorite and finally finishing with a bunch of excuses for not getting it done. Stop defending and making excuses for underachieving.
  14. Only for the apologists. These same people also claim that Beechwood was the Better team or that this was the Most Talented team since 2007. They just don't know which point to argue. There's nothing different about the makup of team and we clearly had tremendous talent regardless of in-district or out-of-district.
  15. Totally agree. I think the line will be just fine. I see some real talent on the sidelines and playing on JV and expect we will stay in good shape there. I expect that Rowe will be the center and he is a heck of an athlete and a hard worker.
  16. This isn't calling him out for a Dropped Pass or Blown Coverage. Even a H.S. kid should be called out for that kind of stuff.
  17. I actually stated Friday night that I thought the Better Team didn't win, but I agree with what you are saying. I still believe that BW had more talent, but the "team" was NOT better on that night. This thread was supposed to be therapy and its clear we need it. It would appear that most fans are still in the denial phase and have a long way to go to complete their recovery.
  18. Yes, you are correct. There is NO COMPARISON between Yeagle and Rash.
  19. Yes, because that's what mature, reasonable good coaches do.
  20. I hope your screen name is just a moniker you chose and you are not actually a Coach. Can't believe anyone would believe the way you do, nevertheless a coach!
  21. The Eternal Monkey. Congrats to Mayfield and Good Luck next week.
  22. At this point I see no reason to think otherwise.
