I'm really looking forward to the 1st Round matchup of the Gateway Classic at Montgomery Co. between Anderson Co. and Campbell Co. Should be a great one.

CONTACTING THE BACKBOARD 10.3.4 SITUATION: A1 tries for a goal, and (a) B1 jumps and attempts to block the shot but instead slaps or strikes the backboard and the ball goes into the basket; or (b) B1 vibrates the ring as a result of pulling on the net and the ball does not enter the basket. RULING: In (a) legal and the basket counts; and (b) a technical foul is charged to B1 and there is no basket. COMMENT: The purpose of the rule is to penalize intentional contact with the backboard while a shot or try is involved or placing a hand on the backboard to gain an advantage. And these colleges are going to just let a couple of random high school teams use their facility? By the time the two schools participating paid for buses, personnel to work the game and whatever the college charged for the use of the facility it wouldn't be worth it in my opinion.

So sorry to hear this. She was a great person. Prayers to the family and to the Mason Co. HS family.

No gym clearing going on. Remember, Montgomery County has 2 gyms. One gym starts at 1:30, the other at 2:00. One day one for the girls the first two games will be in the Arena, the last 2 will be in The Barn. Hope that makes sense.

Here's something else; Trinity shot 9 under as a team and didn't win. lol Those two teams will be hard to beat next week. The question becomes, who are the teams that will battle for 3rd and 4th? Madison Central, Owensboro Catholic, Taylor Co., LCA and Montgomery Co. are teams I think have a shot at those two spots.

Should be a pretty competitive group of teams this weekend at Montgomery Co. GRC Menifee Co. Mason Co. Fleming Co. Nelson Co. Grant Co. East Carter Harrison Co. Bryan Station Montgomery Co. Pool play begins at 9AM.
