Actually, it was up to the associations until the 2010-11 season. That was the first time (I believe) the KHSAA required officials to go out of region. This was my last season officiating and the only reason I know this. The members of the 10th and 11th regions always chose to keep their guys for obvious reasons.

I can think of 2-3 coaches I'd ask before I asked Rick Chasteen.

After looking at this, I'm not sure how accurate it is. I know for a fact the 10th Region had 5th Region officials last year.

I saw Alvin Sims break a breakaway rim one night at Harrison Co. They had to go to the middle school and get a rim off of one of their goals. Game started about 45 minutes late.

I saw a lot of the 2nd half. I don't think I've ever seen anyone complain about officiating after winning by 30....

See, I thought it was the road from Cynthiana to Brooksville. Maybe it's both.

The Gateway Classic at Montgomery Co. will have a top 20 match-up in the 1st Round it looks like, as Simon Kenton will be taking on Boyd Co.

So how should the KHSAA handle this? Do college coaches have passes? Should ticket takers assume since they have on gear from a particular school and say they are a coach, they really are? It sounds like a logistical nightmare for the KHSAA to me. I'd be interested to see how other states do it.

Possibly. Varies from school to school, but there are guidelines set up by KHSAA.
