  1. You could, quite possibly, be the biggest homer on BGP!
  2. GT, did my firends boy, Drew Frey, play and contribute?
  3. The word is that the NL boys are pretty focused and ready. I think NL by 13: NL 26 SL 13

I'm betting he isn't using an HD TV...
  5. Did you notice if he was past the line when he threw the shovel pass a couple of plays earlier?
  6. Illegal forward pass. QB was past the line of scrimmage when he threw the pass. It could've been called a another time in the final drive.
  7. I hate to hear this for Muse and Abner. When did they go out in the game. PC did a good job keeping it close losing so much of its offense. At least Hines has another excuse. Any way he can throw another dig in against his opponents administration?
  8. I didn't know that. Wonder if it was due to what we were talking about? Where did he go?
  9. If this is true, playing time for the home grown guards might be hard to come by. Haven already gotten 2 projected backcourt starters from NL (Huff and Gilbert), add to the mix Eric Wright as a solid senior guard, will there be any playing time available for the SL kids that have come up in the program like Smith and Sizemore? Depth is good if a coach uses it, but, if not, this could cause some problems. Trust me, I've seen in happen.
  10. Listen, I'm pretty sure we're on the same side here. I agree that our db's did an excellent job. You've got me curious, how many pass plays did PC run?
  11. True, but imo a bit misleading. They were hardly ever in a passing situation. They moved the ball on the ground pretty easily. I don't remember PC punting one time. NL did force a couple of fumbles that ended drives.
  12. This was a dandy to watch. Neither defense had much success stopping their opponents offense. It's my opinion that PC was not "ready" for this one. I think they thought they'd win it easily. When NL showed they could play with PC, PC appeared to be a bit frustrated, and got some silly penalties that cost them dearly. Congrats to Coach Larkey and his NL team. Good luck to both teams in the remainder of their seasons.

  14. I was alluding to this upcoming year's starting lineup. Gilbert and Huff both played at North before transferring to South.
  15. Well, had this rule been in place in the last few years, 40% of South Laurel HS's starting basketball lineup would have had to sit out a year. I don't think those affected would have chosen to move schools if they had to miss a season.
  16. Nope, his father has applied for a job coaching basketball at North Middle. Go figure.
  17. Pretty amazing that someone would go through the charade of renting an office/ apartment in another part of town just to get their 11-12 year old eligible to play in a different league. I was told that one of the parents even changed their address on their drivers license to perpetuate the myth. I think they did everything BUT move. As a resident of Laurel County, I am very disappointed with the all of the adults involved in this. Parents, league officials, board members, all of them knew what was going on, and just turned their heads. I even told a board member that it would blow up on them eventually, and it did. Yet again, adults ruining a kids game.
  18. I've got a Skycaddy and love it. Really nice when I'm playing a course that I'm not familiar with.
  19. Billys BBQ in Chevy Chase. Ones you mention don't even compare.
  20. Layla (spelling?) for Layla Ali lady boxer
  21. I guess you could, but not a walk I'd enjoy, probably 2+ miles each way.
  22. Stay in downtown Cincy, not in Covington. Westin, Hyatt, and Millenium are all good choices. For dinner I'd consider Jeff Ruby's (steak), Benihana (fun), or Boathouse (ribs and great sports atmosphere). Your kid will have a blast. Also, you can hit the aquarium in Newport for a couple of hours the morning of the game. A trip that you and your boy cill always remember. You also may want to check if you can tour the stadium before the game.
  23. I don't believe this one bit. I think people need to quit making declarations as facts when all they're doing is reading other peoples opinions on blogs and web pages. Reading a lot of people's opinions on a subject doesn't necessarily make you an expert, or insider on the subject.
