  1. Does anyone know if David Hensley would be interested? I know he took the year off from coaching and this job would be closer to home than Dunbar was. However, he may be waiting on the Harlan Co. job when Larkey retires.
  2. Is the current staff pretty much the same staff Duncum had? Will a new coach be able to chose his staff? As much as they have struggled recently it would seem odd if there were no changes made with the staff.
  3. Whitaker, Duncum, Roark and a coach currently in the district are names I have heard. Les, have you heard what NL's schedule may look like next year? If a new coach could have a winning season next year it would certainly help build some momentum.
  4. Actually the line judge told the receiver where to line up on the line as is standard procedure. However when the receiver bent his knees into his normal two-point stance the line judge would call offsides saying the receivers head moved. In 25 years of watching football I have never seen this call and it was made 11 times in this game alone. Whether this is the correct call or whether it had any effect on the game is definitely debatable but to state that these were normal penalties isn't accurate.
  5. NL was stopped twice at the SL 1 or this game would have been even closer. Wardrup proved the critics who said NL couldn't throw wrong, he had a tremendous game. If the NL receivers can continue to improve and eliminate some drops and they get the 2 starters back who are missing on the Oline NL could have a surprising season. Bowling is a phenomenal high school QB. He rarely throws a bad pass. I was surprised with the NL defensive gameplan, they brought no pressure at all and let him stay in the pocket all day and he ate them up. Welch is also doing a good job at improving the SL defense.
  6. Shannon goes 6 innings to get the win with Damron pitching the 7th to pick up the save.
  7. I understand that completely. I was just answering the question about why the rule applies to football and soccer and not other sports. My point about playing the best kid regardless of grade was pertaining to baseball.
  8. The rule applies to soccer and football because the khsaa considers them contact sports. If an eighth grader works all summer, fall and winter on becoming the best player they can be and a high school student does nothing to improve from the time the season ends until tryouts start do you still think the high school student should play over the younger kid? All though not always true the kid that works the hardest will usually be the best player and that is who should play regardless of grade level.
  9. Will the young kids coming into the program like Smith and Vorbeck help any this year?
  10. Your obviously a poster with an agenda. I know Coach Brown and know he is a fine person and excellent coach. Kind of funny that you don't express the same outrage at Hicks behavior last night.
  11. It appears Canady and Spurlock used their teacher e-mail accounts which I believe are subject to open records laws.
  12. Whether you are a Clay fan or not there is no way you can justify what their coaches have done.
  13. North needed a win over one of the top 13th region teams. Should be a great game Monday night between NL and Clay.
