  1. Bet'em off those bad hands pre-flop. If that doesn't work, you need to play for higher stakes.
  2. I'm more for Tim Tebow after reading this thread than ever before. He sure seems like a great kid, with his priorities in line. He doesn't ask for the publicity, but has definately earned it with his play on the field, and actions off of it. I also think that, in time, he'll be a success in the NFL. He's going to mess up, we all do. Tebow's not Jesus Christ, just a follower. I've never heard him claim to be perfect, or better than anyone else. The post about his girlfriend's appearance being an indictment of him being less of a person is ridiculous. Are Christians supposed to date ugly women?
  3. My first game was at Crosley, I'm guessing it was in 1969. I remember the popcorn holders were megaphones and that the ice cream sticks had different baseball players inside the ice cream. I think Lee May hit one out of the stadium that night.
  4. I stay a lot at both the Hamton Inn and Marriott Courtyard downtown. Both are good, and very close to 4th Street Live. I like the Hampton Inn a little better, and it has free parking.
  5. So you're going to do what you've trashed UK fans for doing over the years? Isn't that more than just a bit hypocritical?
  6. Black coffee Unsweet tea Sweetner in either is disgusting to me...
  7. UT must have lost because they scored in the middle of the shot clock, not early or late...
  8. It went all downhill for the Vols when Pearl started waving his hands to pump up the crowd.
  9. I can't believe the people calling for these men to never ref again. A mistake was made, clear and simple. It's not the first time, nor will it be the last. Let this go, and move on. I was also shocked to hear that the losing coach asked the winning coach to forfeit the game because of the call. Unbelievable...
  10. According to the top dog over UK Athletics, there is no substance at all to this. He said they get 4-5 of these type things brought to them per WEEK.
  11. At first I did not like the idea of having it at The Arena. The first night of girl's games added to my initial opinion. After experiencing the balance of the tournament, I think has ended up being a great move. NL and The Arena officials have done a bang up job hosting this tournament. I don't see why anyone would want to move it away from this venue. I think this venue makes the tournament feel like a much bigger event. It is definately a treat for the players. I don't think there is any way that there will be a 66% vote to move it away.
  12. Actually I thought the foul call with 2 seconds left in the 3rd OT when multiple players from both teams dove for a loose ball was much worse than the charge call. Could have been the worst call I've seen that impacted the outcome of a big game since the Paducah Tighlman Scott County debacle several years ago at Rupp. Bell had the lead and time was running out. IMO it helped determine the outcome of the game. I'm very happy, though, because I just want to see Clay get beat!
  13. I'm with you. Great food! What about the size of the shrimp they were serving?
  14. Great game, but if I was a Bell County fan, I'd be fighting mad.
  15. Man, there are some misinformed people on here! It appears that a certain bunch have some sort of axe to grind. Let me start this by saying that my original view was against having it at the arena. I have since reconsidered. I'd say the 1800 or so people that were coming for the second game were pretty happy to be inside watching rather than standing outside in the cold waiting for that 4OT game to be over. As for the concessions, I thought the cost was about the same asmost high schools I've been to. I bought a popcorn and a pop, and it was 3.50. If that is too much, please tell me what your school charges, and we'll debate as to whether or not the price difference is significant. The statement about charging for mustard is an out and out lie. As for the mistake in the program, please grow up. It was a mistake, and it was also fixed by the next day. If you think it was intentional, you're crazy. You think anyone would pay to print those things twice? Complaints about travel time and cost have no merit. Some travel more, some less. The fact of the matter is that Corbin is pretty centrally located for the 13th region. If you don't like that, petition the KHSAA for a change in regions. People, quit being short sighted and give it a fair shot.
  16. Can I ask how you came to this understanding? Business owners all the time have to use there home as collateral, I would be shocked if he didn't know it. All the facts that I'vew read point to this guy being a flat out rogue...
  17. IMO you are sadly mistaken if you think he did not know he was mortgaging his home. Only wasy he could get the money, so he did it. What about the IRS lien? Guess he didn't know he owed the taxes?
  18. Trust me, he had to know he was mortgaging his home. He was obviously desperate by doing so. His business was probably struggling, and he had to have the cash to stay afloat. More evidence to this is the fact that there was an IRS lien on it. The fact that his home loan was current says nothing about his commercial loan, that was obviously delinquent. This guy is an obvious deadbeat, and a jerk to boot. I hope he ends up in jail. Absolutely SHOCKED that anyone would "salute" him.
  19. Are you kidding me? He puts up his home as additional collateral on a business loan, defaults on it, so the bank forecloses to get paid, and it's the bank's fault? I'm betting that his business loan was way more upside down than his equity, or he would have tried to work it out with the bank. I guess it's the bank's fault his business failed.
