I thought Dixie was playing much better until the bashing they took against a very good Boone team. I'll say Dixie gets this one but really its a tossup.

No farther than this season. I probably looked at 5 threads and saw just these 3 comments. You wanted proof so I gave it to ya. Flip/Flop, I'm not sure if you understand where Im coming with this. My point of the thread was to figure out why Beechwood was playing such an easy schedule when they have such a good team. This team this year maybe the best I've seen at Beechwood and I thought they would be very good after seeing them last year. So know they had a very good squad, I had no clue why they were playing these teams 3times. That isn't the case in any other division. And from what I've heard Beechwood has a great program coming up in the middle school leagues. Why don't they try and get out of D-3 and compete with more larger teams?

Im not saying they are complaining, but I've seen comments that have given me the impression that fans think the team deserves more respect in this area over the past couple years. Which probaby is true from the wins they are getting over the bigger schools, but I was just questioning the schedule. I didn't realize D3 had to play each other twice. D2 and D1, that isn't the case. But just to prove my point, here are some quotes that show why my impression was that Beechwood wanted more respect.

I know what you mean by that last comment. I've seen this St. Henry team and they really have a good amount of talent. Speed is as good as any SR GUARD in the region. He can flat out stroke it. But if he doesn't give them 20+ it seems like the entire team stuggles. Camron needs to put this team on his back. Zumdick has to step up and play big. Joey Swikert is a very underrated player and the heart of this team. Scotty Volz didn't even play his soph or junior years, but at times he looks like the best player on this court. I feel like St. Henry will take care of business and hold Bryan under 20 and win by more than 15+.

I think with the sweep of CovCath last night and the wins over Highlands, Dixie, Conner, and Holy Cross we have seen this team is a legit top 10 team in NKY. But with that said they are getting a lot of hype on here from the Beechwood fans that think they aren't getting the respect they should. My only question is the schedule of Beechwood. What happened to scheduling NCC, St. Henry, Lloyd, Boone, Scott, etc. Some of the better schools and bigger schools that would have made this team better thoughout the year? Why not play some of these teams to make you better. Of the 22wins they have 14 have come against the following: Bellvue (2) Calvary Christian (2) Villa (2) Ludlow (2) Silver Grove (2) Heritage (2) Dayton (2) I understand if 7 of the wins came from these teams, but why are they playing all these teams twice?

Congrats to Cooper and Coach Sullivan!!!! While it has been a long season for the boys, the work had to feel like it paid off last night. Especially when the win came in such a good game. These boys have been taking a beating all year, but I think Coach Sullivan will be telling them they have become one special group of young men over this long season. He is a great coach and I wish him and the players the best of luck.

Ryan Anderson is great kid who leaves it all on the floor. He's been in and out of the starting line up all season. He has taken full advantage of his first year full year on varsity and played very well. I actually thought he would be a finalist but also thought St. Henry senior Joey Swikert was just as deserving.

How can Blake Bryan not be the POY in D3. He is the leading scorer in the State of KY????? If Bryan doesn't get it I do understand the selection of Flannigan also. He led Calvary to the best year in school history.

JokersWild???? Are you kidding? CovCath has the worst team possibly in the history of the school this year. They aren't even a top 10 team in the 9th. They aren't being overlooked at all, they aren't even being looked at. They will have a very hard time winning tonight against Beechwood to just make it out of the district. I can give you Highlands and Boone. Boone quite possibly is the type of team that could give some squads in the Sweet 16 some problems. They are sneaky good. They have good guards, size, athleticism, and shooters. Good defenders. But its going to be tough task for them also to get through a tough district and a competitive regional with Holmes favored.

I saw this list and thought I remembered talking about another name a few years ago. Jackson Capel of Heritage Acadamy. I thought he got to 3000pts, but I could be wrong. Does anyone remember this or know where he finished?

I'm not sure if anyone in NKY is running this, but I've become a big fan of the Dribble Drive Motion Offense. I've studied a lot of what Memphis has been doing the past years and now UMASS is running it. Kids seem to like it once they pick up the concept of driving the lanes and looking to score. It also can open up the outside 3pt shot for players who don't dribble drive well.

Pretty hard to believe that St. Henry got less votes than Bellvue. They did lose to Brossart last week but they beat Conner, Dixie, and Holy Cross who are ranked above them. They are the #1 seed in the district. Guess this is the first time I've never seen CovCath not get a vote.

This is interesting, but its not going to effect me. I just bought my tickets at Ticketmaster today. Looking forward to this great event.

Played against TJ Evans at NKU alumni league and intramurals. This guy can still play. Who else was on that Boone team? Flick?

I'd like hear more thoughts on the teams that aren't powers in the 9th. Those teams that were special and only one once. Most recently St. Henry and Ryle, but some fact about 93' Conner and 89' Scott. Also I'd love to hear about the players on the two Boone teams in 96' and 85'.

I would have to believe that Cameron Speed has been one of the best Seniors in the second half of this season in the 9th Region. He has been playing through an ankle injury and been putting the Cru on his back. Good win for the Cru

This really was a great game to be at. St. Henry trailed by 14 early in the second half but then was leading by the end of the 3rd quarter. Nice comeback! Speed led the game with 29pts, he willed his team to a win last night. A very physical game where I think the refs let it get out of hand in the first quarter. Both sides were very unhappy at times, but they both were consistantly unhappy. Ives shot well for CovCath but other than him and Maile it was a tough night from the field for the Colonels. St. Henry's depth made a huge difference in this game.

Mine too. Elliot Co was the states favorite team outside of everyones own region teams. Some of the Elliot fans are making me want to feel differently.

All season the top teams in the state have remained the same. And even with Holmes losing it still remains the same. Elliot Co fans can run there mouth a little bit now. But when they lost to Shelby Valley, Holmes fans were boasting also about there team and how they were number one. If you ask me Scott Co is still the #1 team, but I kind think we'll see them upset before State. Just my opinion. Could Holmes lose again??? Sure. Could it be to Boone? Maybe. Could it be to NCC, maybe but doubtful. Could it be to themselves????? Hmmmmm. Guess what Im trying to say is all the fans of every team need to look at the fact. Its Kentucky High School Basketball, nothing is ever guarenteed and crazy things happen every year.
