The Observer Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 KY Boys Basketball: Week 11 Rank Team Points 1 Holmes 85 (5) 2 Boone County 84 (4) 3 Highlands 66 4 Scott 55 5 Ryle 40 6 Newport Catholic 35 7 Campbell County 28 8 Beechwood 26 9 Conner 23 10 Newport 12 11 Dixie Heights 11 12 Holy Cross 9 13 Bellevue 7 13 Brossart 7 15 St. Henry 6 16 Calvary Christian 1 Bellevue gets 7 votes? Really?:eyeonyou:
The Observer Posted February 17, 2009 Author Posted February 17, 2009 If Boone has 84 points, and 4 first place votes (40 points), that means they also got 4 second place votes (36 points) and one coach voted them 3rd !?!?

Really?:eyeonyou: Pretty hard to believe that St. Henry got less votes than Bellvue. They did lose to Brossart last week but they beat Conner, Dixie, and Holy Cross who are ranked above them. They are the #1 seed in the district. Guess this is the first time I've never seen CovCath not get a vote.

Dowork Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I was hopin boone would jump holmes, then everyone can start talking about boone, and it will be an "upset" when they lose in regionals.

Eta Rho Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I expected Boone to leap Holmes here. Not me. Holmes lost to Newcath last year, who is no where close to what Boone is this year and they didn't move from the top spot. Too many quality wins against quality competition to take them out of the top spot after one loss in nky. Had Boone beat Highlands, they'd have a more legit argument for being ahead of Holmes.
StraightShooter Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Holmes should be #1. People put too much stock in a W/L in one game in basketball where homecourt means so much. Holmes beats Boone at Holmes IMHO. Boone beats Highlands at Boone IMHO. The Boone game at Highlands was "one of those games" that happens EVERY year in basketball. Boone should be #2.

homeofthewhopper Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Holmes is the best team in the 9th without question.
