  4. Why would he worry about dodging anyone? He's basically got a semi-pro team every year. He has to play a lot of teams outside his conference to have any resemblance of competition.
  5. I'm partial to the smaller breeds. We have a Bichon Frise. Full of life and loves to play. Loves attention. His name is Prince William VI. When we filled out his papers we chose that name but when we got the official document back we saw that there were 5 other Prince William's already named before our Prince, lol.
  6. This was a topic on another board that I read yesterday. One comment that I tend to agree with is, although he doesn't get the top recruiting class every year, he does manage to get a couple of the top 5 prospects every year. And in women's basketball that is huge because unlike men's basketball there is a big drop off after the top 10 players in the country and the next 90. In addition, his top 2 or 3 girls he signs each year usually plays for him all 4 years. That's not the same with men's basketball, although it would have sure been nice to have had players like Wall, Cousins, Davis, Booker, Towns, etc around for 4 years. There's no doubt Gino is a great coach, but the statement that he hasn't had the number 1 recruiting class in a while is misleading. He doesn't have to have the number 1 class to be dominate. Just land a couple of the top tier players each year and stockpile the mega-stars to build powerhouses. And win titles.
  7. There's no logical way to seed the state tournament due to most of the teams who end up in the tournament not playing one another during the season. And the newspaper rankings are too controversial to use. But to seed the districts is no problem at all. Our district has done it for nearly 4 decades with no issues whatsoever.
  8. The district has to vote on rules to keep that from happening. In the 56th district point differential only counts up to 15 points. If each team wins by 15 points or more in their two district games during the season then a coin toss is used to break the tie. But I'm not aware of that occuring since seeding was voted into use 37 years ago.
  9. The new hair style of Fox is definitely different. I didn't recognize him when the game started.
  10. Thanks for the correction. I got my games confused. But wasn't he a game time decision to play at Tennessee and still gimpy with his ankle?
  11. When I fill out my picks for the Sweet 16 I will have Elliott as my pick in the 16th region. This is why I don't put a crazy amount of emphasis on Cantrall ratings. They have Boyd at 1 this week and Elliott at 3, but Elliott then goes to Boyd's floor and soundly defeats them.
  12. Wireman, did you notice the defenders jumping across the line while defending the inbound pass? I saw it happen twice in the final 2 minutes.
  13. Cats by 20-25 points. They lost by 2 in Knoxville but Fox left the game with injured ankle 5 minutes after tipoff and didn't return, and Mulder was out with illness. Two guards missing, one a great ball handler and playmaker and the other a good shooter. Vols are in big trouble in this one.
  14. I'm old, a little senile, and don't keep up with rule changes but I have a rules question. When did it become legal for the defensive player to jump over the inbounds line when guarding the player inbounding the ball. I saw it happen twice in the 2 minute Kansas comeback. Once it led to a 5 second call and the other time it resulted in a steal. I thought the defender had to keep his feet inbounds while defending??? It was totally obvious that the line was crossed and the officials were right on top of the play.....and no call!
  15. The big kid, I think his name is Adrian, lost the game for WV. He wasn't alone in being in meltdown mode but he was the worst. Threw away passes, fumbled ball out of bounds on rebound. Just total panic-attack!!! Kinda felt sorry for him because you could see fear on his face.
  16. I wouldn't mind seeing the men go to a 4 quarter game, like the women, but that's all they need to mess with.

  18. I watched up until the two guys who had just been announced winner took off their pants and went on stage in their underwear to accept. I said to myself, "Well Self, that's about enough of this goofy crap for me!"
  19. Sounds like this guy was a monk in name only. Had him a pretty neat cover going there.
  20. I know. It's been crazy this year. In Buckhorn's case I think they are playing better now than earlier in the season. Can't ever count out Noble's teams. The guy's one of the best, a winner.
  21. Watched this one on DVD Friday. Good action Western, similar to the first movie in plot but different setting. These type movies always amaze me how all the bad guys raise up on the rooftops just enough to get shot, or run out of buildings into the street where they are basically sitting ducks. Ain't they ever heard of guerrilla warfare? :idunno:
  22. I don't think Cordia can beat Powell County. Coach Fraley is Old School and he has his Pirates playing hard and disciplined. Their only negative is they don't have much size, basically starting five guards.
