  1. This would be me :scared: :scared: If I were the someone who knows CZAR personally and actually hopes to see their next birthday after initiating someone to give him a hardtime !!!! You dont tug on superman's cape, you dont...................
  2. It all begins and ends with what the coaching staff allows . No need to blame anyone else, either a coaching staff has control or they dont. Maybe the staff has no desire to take control of things, but ultimately HE/THEY CAN control these issues if he/they really want to exercise the best remedy he/they have. A good benching or a trip to the house for a few games usually has a way of altering poor attitudes.
  3. ahhh, the infamous '' CAN '' workout.
  4. I have been told for several years that the posted velocities on the scoreboard generally run about 3 miles an hour slower than what scouts will show on either a JUGS gun or a Stalker. I have gunned pitchers, and have seen many others gun pitchers over the last several years and those descrepincies are about what I have witnessed as well based on either what my gun read, what other guns close to me read, and/or my knowledge of where a certain pitcher normally throws. If there was not a question in ones mind about the acurracy of what was posted, then why would any scout choose to use their own guns? If they felt the posted velocities were correct, there would be no need in it.
  5. I was just talking about their ability to hit the ball. By the way is Daniel Gullett related to Don?
  6. :thumb: Thanks gold sunrise!!! I would be great to see Clark at Applebees.
  7. Just wondering if any of the Greenup faithful would give Aaron McGlone the credit for them being able to do that?
  8. Congratulations to Greenup. Would be great to have Johnson Central and Greenup both at Applebees.
  9. I'm sure some of the Pikeville folk can answer that better than I could, but I would guess that you could probably count them on just a few fingers over the last 4 years.
  10. It would take a hurricane to have a game postponed at Pikeville. Besides the first day Fyffe or Sexton either one would be eligible to pitch again would be Sunday. They have to have a minimum of 3 days rest.
  11. I didn't see you around, so I rubbed a bunch of my other Pikeville buddies heads.
  12. But I hear he has his Daddy's smile.:thumb:
  13. I guess since you have put things in those perspectives, I guess $25 for the semi-state game would be a better bargain than $7 to see a Reds game.:thumb:
  14. That's what you call sticker shock for sure. Never seen a game over $5.00 before.
  15. Could you stand beside the gate as the players walk through to let them rub your head?
  16. That was very early in the season wasn't it.
  17. Gee, and I thought you were going to be there to root us on. You see the difference it makes with you not being there.
  18. Actually despite a great pitching performance by both pitchers, the star of the game was Letcher Central's third baseman. He made three super plays. Two of those plays saved Letcher from having 3 runs scored on them. It was like the '70 World Series when Brooks Robinson single handedly took the wind out of the sails of Reds.
  19. To me the most impressive player for GRC is Evan Bennett. He has been hands down the best hitter that I have seen all year. I was really impressed by his bat control and his ability to hit the ball anywhere he wanted to put it.. From what I hear,he is being courted somewhat by UK.
  20. Evan Bennett for Clark is an impact player on the basketball team for Clark. I think he hit a buzzer beater shot in the regional finals to send Clark to the Sweet 16.
  21. Thanks BBF13. You know that all of us in our household value you and your families friendship and wish you nothing but the very best in your future. Set em up and mow em down at Asbury. You'll have a great career.
  22. I just want to say that I really hate this loss for Boyd. All those guys and their families and the coaching staff have been close friends of mine and my family for many years now. I had full intentions of going to this game and supporting the Lions but things just didn't work out like I hoped. Like Bobbyearl said these guys have gotten to experience things that not very many kids ever get the chance to experience once. You are all class acts and great kids. I just wish you had the opportunity to go back to the big show one more time, but for about all of you seniors it's far from being over. Good luck and best wishes in your careers at the next levels. Also I know that some of you Boyd Co. fans may be disapointed with the way the season ended, but dont be too tough on the coaching staff. They, in my opinion are still some of the best in the business. There is not a single one of them that I dont admire and respect . They have all coached both of my two sons in the past and I have full confidence in every one of them. Best of luck next year.
  23. Matt was simply overpowering last night. It is the finest game that I have ever seen him throw, and he has thrown some dandy's in his career. He started out in the upper 80's and never dropped off a bit . He actually picked it up another notch in the 7th.
  24. Letcher County had one of the most fundamentaly sound teams we played all season. Coach Dean has done all of this in only two years. I wonder what some of the folks at Powell Co. that made life a nightmare for him are saying now?
  25. As far as I know Matt has never thrown against Lawrence County in his entire high school career. I could be wrong, but I dont think I am. Maybe in a summer or fall game some where along the way.
