Letcher Central 1 Johnson Central 0 (8 innings)

Final.

WOW

LCC pulls out a tight one with great defense and quality pitching by Schyler Sexton.

Sounds like this was a dandy. My kind of game!

Who pitched for Johnson Central?

^^I was told it was Fyffe...

What a game!!! Spectacular defense won this game. Two inning ending double plays (both on line drives to middle infielders who proceeded to step on second) saved the day for Letcher. One of the two ended the game. Letcher scored the only run of the game in the top of the eighth. The leadoff batter hit one to the right of the second baseman. His off-balance throw went in the dugout. The runner was awarded second, sacrificed to third, and scored on a beautiful suicide squeeze.

Both Fyffe and Sexton were incredible. I'm not sure on their overall numbers, but they both went all 8. Fyffe gave up 3 hits and 1 unearned run (would like to see his K total) while Sexton gave up 6 hits. Both teams had one error. Hope tomorrow's game is just as exciting.

Fyffe pitched for JC. allowed 3 hits and struck out 15. JC could not advance runners all night.

Saw the highlights on WYMT. A real pitchers duel. This looked like a GREAT game!

That a boy Bryan! Keep it up. Letcher Central has a good coach down there.

Actually despite a great pitching performance by both pitchers, the star of the game was Letcher Central's third baseman. He made three super plays. Two of those plays saved Letcher from having 3 runs scored on them. It was like the '70 World Series when Brooks Robinson single handedly took the wind out of the sails of Reds.

Gee, and I thought you were going to be there to root us on. You see the difference it makes with you not being there.:D

Got stuck at work. I'll be there tonight though so it will be all good. LCC probably doesn't realize they will face a pitcher tonight who is just as tough as the one they saw last night. :thumb:

Still going with JC in the series...

They have already faced him earlier in the year at home.

That was very early in the season wasn't it.

Could you stand beside the gate as the players walk through to let them rub your head?
