  1. Yeah the machinery is where the new home stands will be. What you are seeing is actually the gravel base coat for the track. The asphalt has not been laid yet.
  2. There will be visitors seating on the opposite side of the field. They have just not been put up yet. There will also be brand new seating for the home team side next season. There was concern that it could not be completed in time for this season's games, so the old seating will be demolished after this season's conclusion, and the new ones constructed for the 2008 season.
  3. I guess I should clarify something. I was in no means trying to imply that I thought that Clemens was guilty of taking any form of emhancements of any kind and by no means am I trying to discredit his dedication to the game and his physical conditioning. Clemens is one of my all time favorite players and is one of the greatest ambassadors for baseball that the game has ever seen. I was just meaning to say that the friend that I know that played with Clemens just indicated to me that as of the time that he played with Clemens he thought that his workout routine was not any more advanced than what he and the rest of the pitchers on the staff went through. Whether or not Clemens changed anything or not (post Blue Jays) I have no idea of. Sometimes however God does delay what Father Times has a way of destroying a few years later than what some of us are afforded. Sometimes genetics are responsible for what some of us are allowed to physically enjoy as well. Actually STRIKE3 I guess I have two friends that pitched in the Blue Jays organization. One is the local guy that we both know very well and another that resides in Huntington. I think that you may have talked to him in the past as well. But I think that only one played at that time with Clemens.
  4. Actually I have a very good friend who pitched in the Blue Jays organization with Clemens and he told me that he never could understand the hoopla and the publicity that Clemens got over his workout routine because it wasn't much different than what he and the rest of the other guys were doing. Maybe Mother Nature just treats some of us a little different than she does some of the others when our years start to advance. We'll refer to it as the Dick Clark syndrome.
  5. I think that I can remember Valley Sports having to forfet the 11/12 State Championship title in or about about '99 or '00, because they and used some players that allegedly lived in Indiana. Would any of the players on the series championship team have fallen into that category? The best I remember Valley Sports had to forfeit the title to none other than the Southeast Lexington Little League team. How's that for coinsidence? As for an age difference in the squads as you proposed as being a factor, they were all still 12 years olds primarily regardless of whatever grade they were in school. I'm sure that STRIKE3 can correct me on any of this if I am in error.
  6. Dont Worry, Be Happy.:madman:
  7. I was referring to Marvin's son. Did he end up being a coach as well?
  8. G-Howard Wallen G-Harry Meeks G-Paul Bradley LeMasters F-David Couch C-Mike Castle Bart never really fully developed until college, McCarty (nowhere even close, Jack Wireman would be the next choice at forward), Couch was really more of a small forward Just my opinion
  9. Yes he will. They are both as fine as individuals as you will ever come across. Congratulations.
  10. Congratulations to Justin, and best of luck this summer with the Hounds and at the next level with Marshall.
  11. Everybody remembers the LL World Series Championship Team from Valley Sports and they continue to have those "Where are they Now?" questions asked. A lot of people fail to remember that Kentucky also had another 12u World Series Champion that same season. That being the Cal Ripkin All Star team out of Lexington who went on to capture that division's World Series. My question is, what ever became of that group of players? I remember Tyler Hatfield, that played for Lexington Catholic was a member of that team. How about some of the other players from that squad? Who were some of those players and what ever became of them? Also would anyone that is familiar with both teams care to speculate how the outcome would have been if both teams were to have faced each other?
  12. This would be me :scared: :scared: If I were the someone who knows CZAR personally and actually hopes to see their next birthday after initiating someone to give him a hardtime !!!! You dont tug on superman's cape, you dont...................
  13. It all begins and ends with what the coaching staff allows . No need to blame anyone else, either a coaching staff has control or they dont. Maybe the staff has no desire to take control of things, but ultimately HE/THEY CAN control these issues if he/they really want to exercise the best remedy he/they have. A good benching or a trip to the house for a few games usually has a way of altering poor attitudes.
  14. ahhh, the infamous '' CAN '' workout.
  15. I have been told for several years that the posted velocities on the scoreboard generally run about 3 miles an hour slower than what scouts will show on either a JUGS gun or a Stalker. I have gunned pitchers, and have seen many others gun pitchers over the last several years and those descrepincies are about what I have witnessed as well based on either what my gun read, what other guns close to me read, and/or my knowledge of where a certain pitcher normally throws. If there was not a question in ones mind about the acurracy of what was posted, then why would any scout choose to use their own guns? If they felt the posted velocities were correct, there would be no need in it.
  16. I was just talking about their ability to hit the ball. By the way is Daniel Gullett related to Don?
  17. :thumb: Thanks gold sunrise!!! I would be great to see Clark at Applebees.
  18. Just wondering if any of the Greenup faithful would give Aaron McGlone the credit for them being able to do that?
  19. Brian Brohm was drafted out of High School by the Rockies in 2004.
  20. Congratulations to Greenup. Would be great to have Johnson Central and Greenup both at Applebees.
  21. I'm sure some of the Pikeville folk can answer that better than I could, but I would guess that you could probably count them on just a few fingers over the last 4 years.
  22. It would take a hurricane to have a game postponed at Pikeville. Besides the first day Fyffe or Sexton either one would be eligible to pitch again would be Sunday. They have to have a minimum of 3 days rest.
  23. I didn't see you around, so I rubbed a bunch of my other Pikeville buddies heads.
