  1. I guess since you have put things in those perspectives, I guess $25 for the semi-state game would be a better bargain than $7 to see a Reds game.:thumb:
  2. That's what you call sticker shock for sure. Never seen a game over $5.00 before.
  3. Could you stand beside the gate as the players walk through to let them rub your head?
  4. Gee, and I thought you were going to be there to root us on. You see the difference it makes with you not being there.
  5. Actually despite a great pitching performance by both pitchers, the star of the game was Letcher Central's third baseman. He made three super plays. Two of those plays saved Letcher from having 3 runs scored on them. It was like the '70 World Series when Brooks Robinson single handedly took the wind out of the sails of Reds.
  6. To me the most impressive player for GRC is Evan Bennett. He has been hands down the best hitter that I have seen all year. I was really impressed by his bat control and his ability to hit the ball anywhere he wanted to put it.. From what I hear,he is being courted somewhat by UK.
  7. Evan Bennett for Clark is an impact player on the basketball team for Clark. I think he hit a buzzer beater shot in the regional finals to send Clark to the Sweet 16.
  8. Thanks BBF13. You know that all of us in our household value you and your families friendship and wish you nothing but the very best in your future. Set em up and mow em down at Asbury. You'll have a great career.
  9. I just want to say that I really hate this loss for Boyd. All those guys and their families and the coaching staff have been close friends of mine and my family for many years now. I had full intentions of going to this game and supporting the Lions but things just didn't work out like I hoped. Like Bobbyearl said these guys have gotten to experience things that not very many kids ever get the chance to experience once. You are all class acts and great kids. I just wish you had the opportunity to go back to the big show one more time, but for about all of you seniors it's far from being over. Good luck and best wishes in your careers at the next levels. Also I know that some of you Boyd Co. fans may be disapointed with the way the season ended, but dont be too tough on the coaching staff. They, in my opinion are still some of the best in the business. There is not a single one of them that I dont admire and respect . They have all coached both of my two sons in the past and I have full confidence in every one of them. Best of luck next year.
  10. Matt was simply overpowering last night. It is the finest game that I have ever seen him throw, and he has thrown some dandy's in his career. He started out in the upper 80's and never dropped off a bit . He actually picked it up another notch in the 7th.
  11. Letcher County had one of the most fundamentaly sound teams we played all season. Coach Dean has done all of this in only two years. I wonder what some of the folks at Powell Co. that made life a nightmare for him are saying now?
  12. As far as I know Matt has never thrown against Lawrence County in his entire high school career. I could be wrong, but I dont think I am. Maybe in a summer or fall game some where along the way.
  13. Seems like I can remember Joe Magraine from Rowan Co. being able to throw with both arms. Am I correct on that STRIKE3?
  14. I have often wondered where Randy picked up this style of play. He is from Meade Memorial High School where Wendall Wallen taught a tough man to man full court pressure type of defense with a fast break transitional offense. Even when Randy became the coach of Meade Memorial Elementary school after the Johnson Central consolidation his current style was not his style now. I guess one of those thing that make you go .............hmmmmmmm
  15. Sounds to me like a lot of stuff just associated with pride . I would think that the former coaching staff could taken care of a few of those issues with just a little tiny bit of effort from themselves and the players. I was always told growing up that there is no shame in being poor, the real shame is in living dirty. I'm constantly amazed that people can walk past a pop bottle a thousand times and never offer to bend over and pick it up because it's not my job. Maybe that speaks volumes of why Morehead has not been very successful lately.
  16. To be 60 years old I dont think he really looks all that bad.
  17. That is a very good possibility from what I am hearing.
  18. I think he might be referring to another coach other than who you are thinking about STRIKE3.
  19. Congratulations Casey!!! Morehead is getting a player that is just about one of the finest kids I know. Casey is a tireless worker and one of the most baseball knowledegable players I have ever seen play. I can see Casey being one of those coaches on the field for Morehead. Now two of my favorite kids will be at Morehead next year with Casey joining Daniel Pugh. I know that his mom has worked with him extensively throughout his career to make him the player that he is today, while dad also had a little input here and there to help out with the basics. The only thing I think that mom might be disapointed with is, that if Casey would have gone to a place like Oregon State or Arizona she would have had a chance to satisfy that unquenchable thirst to board one of those 747's and become a member of the Jet Set Club ala Paris Hilton. I hear she really loves to fly!! I'm just kidding mom and dad. Again congratulations Casey, and good luck on the beginning of what I am sure will be a very good career at Morehead. Very happy and proud for you.
