They have a Fleet Foxes vibe to them, stylistically. This new album is different though from the first one, which was amazing. I've only listened to it twice all the way through, but I like. And I am a big Fleet Foxes fan. I need to go record-shopping and grab that new one.

That's a long hike for Caverna for a district game. Seems like the KHSAA needs to revisit its 32-only policy for 1A.

Intensely talented HS player who started at CovCath and ended up at Highlands. His eligibility during and after the fact of his amazing HS career was cause of much controversy on this board, significantly by folks from Bell Co., as they had a great team that year and gave Highlands all they wanted in the playoffs in an epic game. Highlands won state that year, but had to vacate several wins because of Mitchell's participation. I guess they eventually got restored, also a controversial point. Lots of lawyers and court costs involved. After an outstanding career at Ohio U., Mitchell played several years with the Panthers as a decent-to-good strong safety with a mean streak and a tough-guy rep. He was recently cut loose from the Steelers after a run I can at best call regrettable, with lots of stupid late-hit penalties and major mistakes as he launched hisself for what he hoped would be a career-ending hit on his opponent. He shoulda been outta the league 3 years ago. I do see this a lot as far as the bolded part. I don't necessarily agree with the rest of your post. Seen this happen a few times.

I was not fortunate to have played HS FB, as my school didn't have it when I attended. So this is all observation. I have attended a game at Gallatin Co., though, about 5-6 years back. Bardstown's actually dropped this week from $2.69 at the beginning of the week to $2.59 today. I'm so glad there's no Speedways in town.

I think ours in Bardstown went up to $2.65 yesterday after a couple days at $2.59. Before that it held at around $2.26 for several days while everyone else's was shooting up.

I don't know about state finals. A few region titles, though. Should be an announcement soon.

He works full-time for one of the distilleries in town and I'm told that was his reason for stepping away from coaching. He was an assistant for Kelly Wood for the Nelson Co. girls for a few seasons before becoming Bethlehem's girls' coach.

Weirdly enough, Louisville customers never saw any significant drop in the fall/winter when the reformulated gas quit coming to their pumps. Yet some places I drive by in Louisville are still 50 cents more per gallon than in Bardstown. Collusion? Or just individual shady business practices?

Prices went up from the $2.26-2.27 neighborhood to $2.39 in Bardstown on Friday. We're holding the line since there are no Speedways in town, and they are the worst about setting the Ky market.

Hate to hear this. I didn't know him as well as Mack since Coach Beard came to GC after I had left Sawville, but he was always very nice towards me.

We may have to wait until late May for this to shake out.

Anybody know what each school's reasoning for passing was? I have heard rumors that TNHS could conceivably qualify for All A, but I'll confess I've not really investigated it much. Seems like Spencer and E'town should be all over this, though.

Seems like it's pretty obvious he wants to be nearby whenever McCurry wants to hang up his whistle at John Hardin.
