  1. They've chosen to stay out of district play, even though the program is something like 6-8 years old? Is this possibly affecting the turnout, as kids can't actually "play for something" such as the playoffs, district rivalrys, etc.??
  2. :thumb: I saw lots of "football sized kids' in the stands at the CC game, and have to agree that its a shame that they don't get more kids out for football at a bigger school like that?? Have they taken on a district schedule yet, and if not, is that holding back participation??
  3. Good call "Fan"!! Definately better, and more importantly "more experienced athletes". At least it took the first string to ring up the 7 TDS tonight??
  4. Curious what sport Brossart (or another NKY private as you guys tend to stereotype) has beaten you in to create such animosity??
  5. Good win for the Camels--Good to see the "O" get going tonight!!
  6. Congrats to Newport on their first win of the season!! Mustangs continue to work hard, but their lack of size and experience shows up against established teams. Brossart did a better job not giving up the big plays tonight, but Newport very methodical, and simply continued to overpower the young Mustangs!! BB "O" needs to find a way to move the ball and give the "D" a break occasionally. They had one late drive going when the 'Cats finally subbed, but a couple incomplete passes turned it over on downs. Good luck to both the rest of the way.
  7. I doubt any region of the state is all love & kisses, and I truly doubt NKY is any different?? Insinuating that the public schools in NKY are throwing a party because Brossart finished 3rd to Grant County in golf is not only laughable, but totally uninformed?? Surely a coach of your stature has something else to worry about than trying to create 9th region boy's golf controversy????:laugh:
  8. Brossart has had a great run in golf for the last few years, especially since they're hardly known as a golf power over the years; but their streak of state tourney appearances came to an end this year, and congratulations to Grant on a hard earned victory!! This would have been especially rewarding as they only had two kids with varsty experience, but it wasn't to be. Congrats to both teams on fine seasons, and good luck to Highlands, Grant (Wow--Publics dominate again ) and BBHS's Brandon Heineke at state!!!!
  9. Why try to stir the pot and create annomosity where none exists?? Grant and BBHS aren't "Rivals" in anything, and I'm sure "this Grant County team" is thrilled to make it to state after a couple near misses the last couple years. To act like the public schools are celebrating this win all over NKY over is absolutely absurd?? Most NKY schools aren't even in the 9th region for golf, and few outside of the region give a darn what happens? I'd guess a lot more celebrated Ryle's victory over CovCath, due to their virtual stranglehold over 8th region golf in NKY for the last 10-15 years?? I'd have expected more from you??
  10. 7--Lexington Catholic 5--Lexington Christian 3--Lincoln County 2--E. Jessamine 1--Woodford County TB--Lexington Christian
  11. 7--Boone County 5--Scott 3--Gallatin County 2--Lloyd 1--Beechwood TB--Boone County
  12. 7--John Hardin 5--Shawnee 3--Trinity 2--Fairdale 1--Ballard TB--John Hardin
  13. Who cares, except that the winner probably makes the playoffs??
  14. Great regular season by the Camels!! Good luck in the post-season!!
  15. I've not followed or attempted to read this entire thread, but I CAN give my thoughts on the realignment. My means of comparison are using just a few of the other top football playing states as examples. Florida, Texas, and California all have 1000+ football playing schools and only have 5-6 classes (FL does have a 1 A&B and 2 A&B)--KY has in the vicinity of 250-260 football schools and has six classes???????? Need more be said?? Can you say. let's give "Little Johnny a Trophy"?? Don't EVER try to tell me again that an All "A" Championship (best of approximately 120 schools--40+%) means less than a KY "Classed" Football Championship, regardless of who or who doesn't sanction it?? Obviously some in this state (other than basketball) want to give everyone a championship--Don't understand it?????????
  16. Sorry, didn't get to read the article, but I thank you for the info.
  17. Does this signal a change at the varsity helm for the Camels?
  18. Played them in the second half--I think he was being a bit sarcastic??
  19. They hung 35 on Ludlow??
  20. Once again the out-manned Mustangs fought to the end, and played well against the Tigers' 2nd team. First half was just a case of being out-sized, out experienced, and giving up too many big plays. Tigers 1st four scores were a 50+ yard run, 2 long interception returns for TD's and a long punt return for a TD. Mustang's lack of football experience showed in all these plays, and a few others which set up TD's. Good news for Mustang fans was the continued hard play to the absolute end by the kids, most of which are going both ways. The line looked better, especially against the Bellevue reserves where the size was somewhat equal; and Tony Woeste ran the ball well tonight, even in the 1st half against the starters!! Fan support was outstanding again for Brossart--Long way to go, but everyone knew that would be the case this year!! Hats off to those kids who keep going out and busting their butts every game--You're setting the stage for the years to come, and your fans are proud of you!!!! :thumb:
  21. Good to see the Camels back on the "W" side of the ledger--Struggles continue for the Cougars!!
  22. Where will they put the new Boone County high school? It should be a 5-6 A football school out of the gate?
  23. It would appear not in football??
  24. I'm pretty sure they're not.
