  1. It never ceases to amaze me to what depths the Obama sycophants will go to to defend everything he says. Obama so badly needs a moral equivalency to defend his undefendable position on not calling the Islamic terrorists what they are that he has to dig back 80 years.
  2. But why? Do all the teams play each the in the regular season? I know they used to do it in the 6th and 7th region and it always seemed that in most districts the 2 best teams would always play each other in the first round. Just seems counter productive to me.
  3. I go back and forth on this issue. I have no problem at all with a team playing deliberate, precision offense and looking for good shots BUT I do think that a team that can play good defense for a period of time (if I had a vote I would go for a 1 minute shot clock in high school) and prevent good shots should be rewarded for their efforts. I abhor it when a team flat out stalls or when a team can't effectively attack or shoot over a zone and they hold the ball out forcing a team into man defense. IMVHO slowing the ball down and not attacking cost Henry Clay the game against Trinity. I shudder to think of the issues you would have at some places finding someone to run the blamed thing correctly. I did it ONCE for a college game, it's not easy. You have to pay attention all of the time. You can't look away for even a second or you may miss something. There is no consistency from one school to another in how the running clock rules are applied, this would be rife for controversy.
  4. Why are there still districts that draw rather then seed district tournaments? Seems rather counter productive to me.
  5. Or Western and if I'm not mistaken only once when he was at Arkansas. Maybe, just maybe that's where all the blue vitriol aimed at Petrino is really coming from. :puke:
  6. Really looking forward to this. I watched most of the first season before I read the books so I'm king of looking forward to being surprised again. I was kind of let down that I didn't feel the surprise that people who hadn't read the books felt at the Red Wedding for example.
  7. And now that people have seen first hand how a swing left can screw things up hopefully they'll have the good sense to send it right again.
  8. Having a father who was a fixture in local politics who threw his political machine behind her didn't hurt either.
  9. And we finally agree on something. It has to say something that as unpopular as McConnell is Obama and his policies are more so. Although someone on the Dem side must have thought looks could help, if they didn't then Ashley Judd or Heather French-Henry would never have been considered because all they brought to the table were their looks. At least Grimes brought some government experience with her.
  10. I was kind of meh about this before, Now that I've seen the cast I'm done. Not a fan of Melissa McCarthy at all.
  11. Which is sad. How many kids actually play sports anymore simply for the love of competition?
  12. As long as there are egotistical AAU, select travel or whatever program administrators that can sell gullible parents (or those living vicariously through their kids) that they can get those kids a college scholarship the problem will continue.
  13. I wonder if anyone deep within the X camp thought that going into year 3 of the Coach Wolford experiment the results would be so underwealming? No District championships No Regional championships 0-3 vs. Male 1-3 vs. Trinity Seems a lot like the results the previous staff was getting.
  14. I've been using a FitBit One for over a year. I love it. I stick it in my pocket in the morning and forget about it. I tried a Flex but it didn't seem to get as accurate a step count as the One. I used Zip before the One but changed because I wanted to be able to track floors climbed and monitor sleep patterns. The One does both and I also prefer being able to recharge it rather then having to replace batteries.
  15. I've seen several people mention the Alex Cross books by James Patterson. I read the first 2 but lost interest. I am in the midst of the latest Women's murder Club book. I would also recommend the latest Jack Ryan books by Mark Greany. He took over the mantle after Tom Clancy's death and they are still very good. Also a series I caught wind of here was the Harry Turtedove series of alternate history where the Confederacy won the Civil War and remained an independent nation trough WWII. Also: Harry Potter Narnia Song of Fire and Ice Hunger Games I started reading Divergent and lost interest.
  16. Grimes entire campaign was "I'm not Mitch". Her looks could only carry her so far. I think it's likely that Ashley Judd and Heather French-Henry saw the writing on the wall and that's the reason 3rd choice Grimes ended up n the ballot.
  17. If she's so happy in that job then why the run for the Senate? There are no altruistic motives here. Lets be honest here all politicians, and Grimes is a politician from birth apparently, will seek the position where they feel they will have to most power and ability for self-aggrandizement. Right now Grimes and her machine feel it is her and the Democratic party's best interest for Conway to face token opposition in a primary and be anointed the Democratic candidate for governor. Grimes is going to try to make a name for herself by fighting Rand Paul on getting on the Presidential ballot in Kentucky while running for re-election as Senator like Dem. Joe Liberman did a few years ago. There's also word that Beshear's son want to run for AG so ALG wasn't given that option.
  18. Unfortunately that would earn the kid on the floor a T. I tend to agree with the person who said they were a sprotsmanship purist. I absolutely loathe how low brow some cheering sections have become.
