  1. Eric Deters wrote it. I believe it is called Pioneer Pride. I enjoyed reading it, but it is poorly written and I certainly could care less about the multiple references to Eric Deter's wife, who was an SK cheerleader.
  2. History suggests otherwise since he played regular season games with Boyle County several years ago.
  3. I would hope they would at least consider an outside candidate.
  4. Is she related to the cross country coach?
  5. Tamme made it at a position he didn't play. Why not Burton?
  6. Wasn't aware he was as highly recruited as he was.
  7. That wasn't meant to be a commentary. I was only stating that they got rid of him. Expectations can be a difficult thing to measure up to.
  8. Jones went to UT when they were really good. While....Cole went to Vandy and Dewalt went to UK.
  9. Maybe true except that isn't "my side", that isn't a point I was commenting on or even something I care about one way or another. Hence the reason I stated that Katfish was missing the point when he quoted me and when off on the subject tagent rant. The credibility of the AP team was my point. Park1221 stated: Bell County High School(neither a champion or runner up) places 6 kids as All-Staters while ALL of Jefferson County(24 high schools, including the 6A champion, 6A runner up and 2A runnner up) placed a grand total of 7. Does anyone really believe that there are almost as many kids worthy of all-state in Bell County as there are in Jefferson County? You have to believe that to believe that the AP poll has any credibility.
  10. Should we expect the AP outlets to attempt to research and figure out who is actually deserving of being all state rather than just assume the best players they personally viewed were indeed the best in the state?
  11. Adventures in missing the point.
  12. Four Northern Kentucky kids that did not make it: Brent Grover, Highlands - LB Purdue Sean Sester, Highlands - OL Purdue Mike Mitchell, Highlands - DB Ohio U Brandon Engelmon, Holmes - DB Michigan Mitchell is playing on Sundays now and he couldn't make Field's all-decade team? Also no Montrell Jones, Male - WR Tennessee/UofL (would like to see a comparison of Jones vs. Cole/Dewalt)
  13. WOW!!!! That speaks volumes.
  14. Certainly Buckler was a HUGE slight. What about Sowder from Scott?
  15. Then tell me what kind of players were they? Call me skeptical, but I find it hard (REALLY HARD), to believe that both North Laurel and South Laurel had two of the best running backs in the state and worthy of even honorable mention. Anyone have any stats to back up their selection or did they make it more on intangibles? Not to mention North Laurel alone had 4 honorable mention all-state players all on the offensive side of the ball. They must have had been great on the offensive side of the ball with that kind of talent. Wonder if the stats bear that out?
  16. Is this a cost savings move?
  17. I am well aware of who he is and my reasons for calling him a homer go beyond this one article. Being a "founding member of the Mr. Football Award" that Vaught would do more than just vote for the local favorite. As long as he unashamedly plays the homer card over and over, he will continue to be viewed as a small town hack rather than any kind of real journalist, at least by me.
  18. I guess he can be, but don't expect anyone outside of that hometown to respect your opinion or insight. - Tipton choses being a journalist over being a homer. - Vaught choses beign a homer over being a journalist.
