All State Football Team of the Decade

Featured Replies

If you picked a KY All State Football Team for 2000-2009, who would you include? First team only. It has been a good decade for KY talent and it would be hard to pick just the first team.

To start the conversation, Mike Fields has released his version he calls the KY Football Team of the 2000s.

Fields' picks:

Solid list, can't argue against any of these kids.

Who else would you consider for your list that didn't make Fields' cut?

Chris Todd, Jared Lorenzen, Andre Woodson all come to mind as QB's that had the talent but happened to play in the same decade as Brohm.

I don't know too many arguments you could make against anyone on this team. Wow!!

Different decade....He played in the same decade as Couch!!! Jared is still one of the better all around QB's to come out of the 90's. Can't argue that!!

My bad, you're right. I was thinking Jared's last season was 2000, but I guess that was Gudugli (sp) ?

That is correct...On spelling it, I can't do it either....I stick with Ga-Dooo-Le:laugh:

Four Northern Kentucky kids that did not make it:

Brent Grover, Highlands - LB Purdue

Sean Sester, Highlands - OL Purdue

Mike Mitchell, Highlands - DB Ohio U

Brandon Engelmon, Holmes - DB Michigan

Mitchell is playing on Sundays now and he couldn't make Field's all-decade team?

Also no Montrell Jones, Male - WR Tennessee/UofL (would like to see a comparison of Jones vs. Cole/Dewalt)

So the defense is a nickel package?

Better yet, the offense has 12 players, so I like their chances against anyone. :D

Wow. What a team. Nice to see the school of the decade had the most members on the all state team of the decade. Congrats to Brian, Sam and Jordan.

Anyone have any updates on how some of the players from 2004 or later are doing?

Go Raiders! :D

Later.

Wow! 17 of 25 mentioned signed in state with either KY or Louisville. Thought those teams might have been better over the last 10 years.

The problem is not retaining our superstars, it is being able to lure out of the state superstars.
