I agree totally. Too often, even in this thread, the argument goes into what they may have done 3 or 6 years down the road from their high school days. But the list is about High School performance.

 

Joe Casey was a great talent in the one game I saw him. Boyle held him in check except for one run that showed why every Rebel fan lived on the edge whenever he touched the ball. :thumb:

How delicately does one need to put that someone is unintelligent or has been so disinclined to put forth any effort on the education side that they are simply not educated from lack of trying?

I wish I had a film of the Warren Central/St. X game to let you see how dominant he was. I don't know how you can say Jones was "definitely" more talented. Last I checked, your height and build was part of said talent. You don't think a good amount/most of a person's talent comes from their physical gifts?

 

I firmly believe and always will, that if Worm could have thought his way out of a paper bag, he'd be playing on Sundays.

 

I got the chance to play against him, don't get me wrong, in HS a 6-7 player at any position is intimidating just looking at them. Our 5-10 DB Andrew Robinson kept him in check all game he had one catch for 38 yards, which included 0 YAC yards. To me he wasn't as dominating as Jones. I would like to see stats compared side by side. It's a great list don't get me wrong, but I believe this is a spot where there is some valid debate!!

 

Ask Josh Chichester or Jared Carter, Terrance Farley, etc. if height and build are a part of one's particular set of skills!

What about Brett Hamblin as a WR/DB? As i can remember he was a standout at HHS.

I'll throw this out for the 90's team in the link and probably get blasted...but, Scotty Russel from Evarts. Toughest player in HS i've played against.

I can't necessarily agree as to him replacing one of the players listed since I didn't get the opportunity to see some of them play. But I did see Hamblen play against the Rocks in 2000 & he was one of the best high school athletes I've ever seen on the gridiron & I've been around a while...:thumb:

Left off was Jason Leger from Rockcastle. 4 year letterman for UK, played offense and defense at UK.

Also the LB from Bowling Green who played at Ohio State was good. Name????

 

He was good but I really don't see anyone on the list in the O Line whose place he would take.

 

Did anyone else notice that Jacob Tamme was listed at TE which was his position at UK. But at Boyle he was more often a WR. I guess that's the way they could fit him on the team. He was an unbelievable weapon for High School. Tall and athletic with hands like glue.

Also no Montrell Jones, Male - WR Tennessee/UofL (would like to see a comparison of Jones vs. Cole/Dewalt)

Both had incredible HS careers, but I would have to go with John. So what if I'm a "Homer" I think he had one of the best (if not the best) HS careers for a WR in the history of KY Football.

Jones went to UT when they were really good.

 

While....Cole went to Vandy and Dewalt went to UK.

I am more than happy with the list.

 

Marcus and Micah on the all-decade list; can't ask for much more from a 2A program.

 

It was nice to have Marcus back in the locker room and on the sideline for the 2A Championship game two weeks ago supporting the FC Falcons!

You seem to keep coming back to this "For a 2A team" mantra.

 

Boyle's Leffew (who made the team) played on 2A Boyle then.

 

Tamme spent half of his career ('99-'00) on a 2A team. Boyle the moved to 3A and won 2 more state titles there. :thumb:
