  1. So he literally got the $250k per win, without even having to do it.
  2. I don't know the kid. However, I watched what he said with cameras in front of him. Imagine how arrogant he must be when the spotlight isn't on him? Holy cow. Then to blatantly lie about it? I don't care if he's suspended or not. But, I'll say this...Stoops should sit him down for a half, as an example to the rest of the team. If he allows players to go rogue, that's a recipe for disaster for the team. I played a lot of football games in high school and college, and these sort of things happen all of the time, but, it doesn't mean that it should be condoned when it is caught.
  3. That's a good point. Maybe not. I'm really concerned about FSU's run game....which will slow the game down. Louisville runs the ball too. I think it'll be a short game, time wise.
  4. 21-7... I played in that game. One of the best games that I ever played.
  5. 1 - First and foremost, like it's been said, college isn't for everyone. A lot of times kids will graduate high school, go to college with no idea what they want to do, and acquire $1,000's in student loan debt. Then maybe go work in the skilled labor field down the road. They'll be behind for years. it really does start in the home. 2 - I think this "rental concept" is going to blow up in a matter of a few years. There are far too many high end apartment complexes going up. Way too many. These markets won't be able to sustain them for the long term.
  6. I feel, that if Louisville can establish their run game, then they'll be fine. My biggest concern? Health. Louisville has come out of the first 25% of their games unscathed. Now, the overall competition amps up. Louisville can afford minimal injuries. They can afford zero OLine injuries. They have the talent, desire, and focus to win the game. But, FSU is playing for their lives so to speak. I'm gonna go with FSU in a tough battle. FSU - 24 U of L - 13
  7. I was a backyard football kid. Never really even knowing that there was an opportunity for me to play it in an organized manner. Well, in fifth grade, my mother signed me up to play at St. Margaret Mary, and the rest was history. Of course, I had to learn so much, like a 3 point stance, how to tackle, when to stay home on defense, the holes on offense, etc. Things you don't even really think about at this stage. I had a decent maturation that lead me to play at Trinity, and then at WKU. Football is a massive part of my life. I coached at Trinity for four years post college, and I thought that it would be my vocation for the rest of my life. Well, life happened, and it lead me to other things. I'll say this, this website has made me lifelong friends with numerous people that I would never ever have met. The common denominator is a love for HS football. Of course we all have other passions. But the one thing, that always calls me back (other than TheGuru), is my love for our fellowship and banter we have here. That said, Go Rocks, Trinity Forever!
  8. OK. I've sat by the wayside long enough. This game concerns me. I actually wish it was at Trinity or a neutral site. I feel we have some bad juju at LMHS. Of course we've won some biggies there. However, I feel homefield advantage is a real thing in this rivalry. Chris Wolfe is the real deal when it comes to coaching prowess. Given the intangibles, I feel we are a more solid team top to bottom. Male has some seriously talented skill position players. I take solace in that I feel their OLine play leaves something to be desired. This is such a difficult game to predict. Coaching is pretty equal. Talent is pretty equal. I think that both teams are rather healthy. I'll go ahead, and pick with the heart. Trinity - 31 Male - 20 I know that Trinity has a massive chip on their shoulder. If they can play within themselves, they should win. There is so very much on the line. This is a must see.
  9. I was fortunate enough to discuss some issues we have in our marketplace, with skilled labor... Great Recession has large impact on construction industry | WKRC
  10. 1987 - Pontiac Sunbird. Coolest car ever right? LOL. That being said I did the best I could with it. Spent a fortune getting the windows tinted, and put a very high dollar stereo system in it. A system that my adult self, would hate to hear. And in typical fashion, my car was broken into, at WKU, and all of it was stolen. They did so much damage that my car was totaled.
  11. I'll go on record, if this game is close, that is a concern for the Xaverian fanbase. This should be a commanding win, if they feel they are title contenders.
  12. I don't know what the future holds. But it feels similar to years of recent past. Mark Twain says it best, "History doesn't repeat itself, but it rhymes". That's what I feel about the remainder of this season. Obviously, this is predicated on Trinity and Male staying healthy. We shall see. To use an often worn out saying, that's why they play the games.
  13. Trinity was down numerous skill players last year. You are right about one thing. They still should have won the title. Leadership, in the end, sealed their fate. That has been rectified this season.
  14. Tigers will roll. This is a great opportunity for a bounce back. I feel this game will speak volumes in their mettle.
  15. Let me say this. I have seen CAL play multiple times this year. While you can't argue with their success, they aren't a very solid team at this point. That doesn't mean that they won't bring home the hardware. I feel that Hunter is learning on the go. They have the horses to be special, I am just concerned when they really get punched in the mouth, that could expose some issues.
  16. Are the Xaverians implementing juniors, now, with Wallace at the healm? I ask, because I have always felt that this has gone a long way in developing some kids, for quality varsity time as seniors.
  17. Agree with that. Last year was a calamity of errors for my boys, but that recharged these boys. I was told there was horrific leadership on that team. We all know that will kill a season. Much like '04 for us, and our loss to Dixie Heights. This team is super hungry, and they have a massive chip on their shoulder. That, by itself, doesn't mean a thing. However, combine athleticism with it, some luck, and health, and now we're talking about a dangerous team. Our game with Male will be so telling. Feels good to be back.
  18. This was an impressive win by U of L. Not because of the score, but because they went to work, on a short week, and executed the game plan. The effort is top notch. Of course there are still a multitude of issues that need to be addressed. I feel confident that the coaching staff has that under control. It's a marathon, not a sprint. I like what I'm seeing, and am extremely optimistic about the future. Not only long term, but now, in this season. #L1C4
  19. I see not much has changed, ranking wise, in my hiatus... What up all?
  20. We should attach a poll to this. I would love to see who supports this.
  21. If this game were at CAL, I would feel comfortable choosing them. DeSales is a hostile environment, and it will be electric. If both teams are at full strength, I say DeSales wins 26-24 ish. If DeSales QB doesn't play, I'll go with CAL, and Milton Wright having a monster game.
  22. I am excited about this match up. Turkey Day practice is on the line. That's a big big deal to us. Bob's teams thrive at this time of year. I am excited that this game is at home. No matter who the opponent, when it's playoff time I get very very nervous. I've seen some crazy results in my day. I feel if both teams play their best, we are superior. Good luck to both, and let's pray all come out healthy. #trinityforever
  23. Just to be clear, Morehead State is non-scholarship, their entire conference is.
