  1. Nice to see you on here Greg, glad to hear Ethan is making progress. With his strength and work ethic I have no doubt he will exceed everyone’s expectations. If you guys need anything give us a call...
  2. I love hearing things like that...
  3. :thumb: Our focus in Monroe Co. has definitely been on Ethan, but as soon as he gets better it will be all about football like it was before he got hurt. In fact he had been working out and running with some other juniors right before his accident...
  4. The latest I've heard is the doctors are looking for a 2 hour window that Ethan is stable so they can do the tracheotomy and put in the feeding tube. His pressure and fever are still unpredictable and have prevented these procedures from taking place. All we can do at this point is pray, pray and pray. I truly feel that there is no greater power that we have than prayer and prayer is our gateway to miracles...
  5. Prayers from our household. Ethan is a good kid from good parents, may God be with them all…
  6. FC simply has some ball hawks/falcons in the secondary, I think it may be the most underrated aspect of FC's team...
  7. Neil is a great player and young man. He will be irreplaceable... I would have loved to have made it to the game but I had to be in Lexington, I'm glad that several Monroe fans and players got to make it and I know they would have been pulling hard for FC. Congrats on the win...:thumb:
  8. Murray was a good team but to say they were second best is debatable. FC had more turnovers and miscues against Murray than anyone else in the playoffs... Maybe this would make for a good thread now that we know who the best team in 2A is... some stats to ponder... Vs Murray FC had 375 yards of offense Vs Monroe FC had 299 yards of offense Vs FC Murray had 317 yards of offense Vs FC Monroe had 252 yards of offense The main thing is congrats to FC on their 3peat...:dancingpa
  9. What problem is it we’re trying to solve? The only problem I have (and the 75 Monroe Co. Players) is that our season ended last week, a week sooner than we would have liked. Coach Petett is already trying to figure out how to extend next season... I have never understood where these complaints about how long the season is come from, I doubt it comes from players, coaches or true fans of the game...
  10. BTW, I forgot to add that it was great meeting billwilliams70, loveoffootball and FalconBacker all great people and great supporters of the FC program. loveoffootball I was really hoping Monroe could help you out with your scheduling conflict next week, but it didn't work out...
  11. As to the Monroe players, not enough can be said about how important these Seniors have been to our program, they have laid the foundation that we can continue to build on and in my opinion there’s no better testament to what type player you are than legacy you leave behind you. Next year we return roughly 8 starters on offense and several on defense and whatever we may be able to accomplish will in large part be because of the hard work and dedication to program that the seniors have made the standard not the exception. I have no doubt these seniors will go on to be successful in whatever endeavors they pursue if they continue to play the game of life the way they played the game of football… Congratulations Class of ’09, keep your chest out and your heads high… GO ROE GO
  12. Congrats to FC. They where no doubt the better football team, I feel like our guys did play hard and left it on the field, but the penalties and turnovers were very irritating and uncharacteristic, but I don't know that it would have changed the outcome, FC is just so hard to stop, Andrews is a great athlete and there are many more that help FC be as successful as they are, some seen and some unseen. The Monroe fans will no doubt be cheering for FC next week, it would be a great accomplishment to win 3 in a row, and if FC plays like they can it will happen…
  13. I'm not very worried about keeping him in Tompkinsville his family and the beautiful new home he just finished will do that, I am however worried about keeping him on the sideline. Being a great coach requires a lot more effort than being a bad/average coach and I know that effort has to be tough on family life, I hope he can keep everything in balance and coach the Falcons for at least 20 more. I will add this, I think sometimes John is taken for granted because he is a local, I don't know how much power John has over the program but it needs to be 100%...
  14. I checked their (APSU's) field out on their website and it looks pretty nice and has seating for 10,000. Monroe travels well but 10,000 should be adequate...:clap:
  15. I'm sure Monroe will enjoy the experience of playing on turf and playing on a college field, but has a KY playoff game ever been held in Tn?
  16. Sorry, is this better?:idunno: I realize before I didn't name every good player for FC my point was that Monroe has several good weapons each of which can score when they touch the ball, and then I alluded to the fact if the defense plays solid that we may be able to slow Andrews down (FC’s leading scorer). And the fact does remain that of all the points scored for FC over 80% of that has come from 3 players... Players for FC that have scored and can score again, Antonio Andrews Troy Turner Tre Powell Darian Crank Chris Allen Cyle Jay Breeon Moreno Darien Upshaw Tim Nikolao Luke Reynolds Aaron Hills Dakota Januchowski Jeff Garner Josh Baskin
  17. Well said. No doubt FC should be favored but Monroe has a lot of weapons and basically have 4-5 guys that can score at anytime, we know about Andrews and Powell for FC and those guys are great no doubt, but if our defense plays like it did against Green Co. Andrews may have a rough time getting it going against a stingy front line for Monroe. If Andrews can be contained and Monroe can limit their mistakes I have no doubt they can win... GO ROE GO!!!
  18. Thanks. I don't want to harp to much more about the officiating but not only did they not punish the dirty play from Green but they did manage to call illegal equipment on us for a player not having his mouthpiece in, problem is it was called before the ball was snapped (way before the ball was snapped) ironically that call was made on 1st and goal for Green. Of course we also had the phantom holding calls on long plays as well as a few block in the back penalties that negated some big plays. We also witnessed the worst call possibly ever made in high school football, here’s the situation, Green QB drops back to throw a pass deep which he under throws bad the defender and the receiver come back for it and the defender sets up like an outfielder in the spot the ball is coming to then right before the ball gets there the receiver (still coming back) nails the defender in the back knocking them both out of the way, the call that followed.... Defensive pass interference! Pathetic... Had this game been close there’s no doubt in my mind we would have been robbed.
  19. My thoughts, Neil Wilson is amazing, he just makes plays. Coach Petett (and assistants) made Coach Griffith look like he was a softball coach filling in for the night. Refs were bad, real bad. They let Green get away with some very dirty play that could have turned very ugly things like punching players, chop blocks, chipping and even a eye gouge or two. They made very little effort to get the game under control and IMO their performance should be reviewed. Green Co. players for the most part are probably good kids, let’s hope they forget the lessons Griff has taught them. Defense for the Falcons was unreal, Coach Knuckles and Coach Hale deserve a lot of credit, as well as the DE's. earlier in the season I felt like we were losing too much ground at that position, however the last three games the DE’s have played great, the pressure they apply is really helping disrupt opposing offenses. Glad to see Green Co. accept the runner up trophy this year, I expected them not to except it like last year but they did and that was good to see, like I said their good kids their just getting bad guidance. Attendance at the game was awesome, kudos to both Monroe and Green for that. The police escort back into T-Ville with lights and sirens blaring was awesome, let’s do it again next week. It can’t be said enough what a great job Coach Petett has done here, I know some people had doubts after his first two seasons but some people would have doubts if you went 14-1, the bottom line is I wouldn’t trade him for anyone and the things his staff and him have done the last two years have been great and with large amount of the offense being Jr.s and having a huge unbeaten freshman class the sky is the limit for the future of Falcon Football.
  20. Great Job Falcons!!! The Falcons played as close to flawless in the first half as I've ever seen...Not even the most sorriest/pathetic/ scandals /cheating referees in the business could stop the Falcons. I'll post more tomorrow but 4am is going to be here very soon... GO ROE GO!!!
  21. Green has the advantage of playing at home, something they took from the Falcons in the regular season, but playing on the road isn't something the Falcons are afraid of, in the last two seasons the Falcons are 10-1 on the road. I also feel like the earlier loss will/has help fuel Monroe and make them want a win even more, if that’s possible. Coach Petett said after the loss he met Coach Griffith at midfield and said “see you in four weeks”, I think that mentality has bled over to the team and in the back of their minds this is what they have been playing for and now that time has come, my nephew told me after the Bardstown game that it wouldn't be a real regional championship if the road didn't go through Green Co. I couldn’t agree more, it wouldn’t feel right hoisting a trophy in the air if Green wasn’t there to except the runner up. A lot of Green fans left Monroe Co. thinking they had played a great game, most in Monroe Co. felt we played slow, methodical and without the passion we should have, I guarantee speed, intensity and passion won't be lacking come Friday night. For both teams this is a great part in their history, what I want is to be the last chapter for Green Co. I want their great ride to end with MONROE COUNTY, I want to be their Mayfield (put out the unbeaten Falcons in ‘89) or Ft. Knox (ended two of my season) when we talk about previous great seasons in Monroe County the story always end's with those teams, that’s what I want for Green Co. I want to be the last page of their best book, we’ve already been their Huckleberry once and I would love nothing more than to end two of their banner seasons. The Falcons are all in, your call Green... GO ROE GO
  22. Didn't mean that like it sounded:idunno:. What I mean is, at what point did Monroe break the tie, and how much time did it take to score the 4td's...
  23. A few of my thoughts from the game... The DE's played their best game of the season last night, they play that good against Green and we have a good shot to win. The offense is working great right now, the weapons the Falcons have is remarkable. Coach Petett is a playoff coach, his passion is undeniable. I hope he coach's the Falcons for many more years. Fan support is great for the Falcons, there will be standing room only at Green Co. Defense played well for 2.5 quarters, but still some missed tackles and blown assignments, but overall I give them an A-. Bardstown should have had more fans than they did.
