  1. And its a slim chance of Bell beating Rockcastle.....just the facts.
  2. Chris Barclay was the other RB. He didn't have too bad a career at Wake Forest.
  3. This is a good point, however winning football games is the objective for college coaches (and even for high school coaches). If you don't win you get fired and you have to have good players to win. Too many of the dedicated, hardworking, marginally athletic types will always get beat by those that have very talented , hardworking, athletic teams that may come with a little baggage. You can't have an entire team full of "thugs", but you can't have a team full of those marginally athletic, coachable, dedicated, hard working kids either.
  4. Will this be enough to overtake Bowling Green in their region?
  5. Warrick Dunn and Emmitt Smith had scholarship offers from every division 1 school in the country. Both were high school all-americans and college all-americans at Florida and FSU respectively. Comparing Ron Blume to these two is laughable.
  6. I'd say the 2 qbs that will be voted on will be Fidler (UK) and Burke ( NC State). The RB situation could be tighter. Blume certainly had numbers, but I'd say he'll be hard pressed to make the team with Rod Johnson, Paul Warford, & Tyler Wimsatt out there at the same position.
  7. Valdosta hired former MTSU coach Andy McCullom.
  8. Put the Raiders at #15 just for you West. They were young last year and played Tilghman tough in the playoffs.
  9. Whats your 3A top 10 for 2006? 2006 Pre Season AAA Top 10 1 Lexington Catholic - Returns Israel and Caldwell but loses Burke. 2 Bowling Green - RB Hibbitt returns along with OL/DL Stuart Hines 3 Highlands - Played many young players in '05. 4 Rockcastle Co. - Larkey's team appears loaded for '06 5 Boyle Co. - Rebels will make noise but big year is '07. 6 Bell Co. - Hilton will battle Larkey again for the region 4 crown. 7 Cov Cath - Lost a lot of talent but talent is reloaded for the Colonels. 8 Hopkinsville - Talented RB in Emmanuel Taylor. 9 Bullitt East - Can the Chargers build on '05? 10 Franklin Co. - QB Ammons returns for the Flyers. 11-15 Ashland Mason Co. Southwestern Paducah Tilghman Warren East
  10. Taylor is a good back, but he didn't get much done against the good competition you mentioned. In 4 of the 6 good competition games,Taylor didn't surpass 100 yds rushing and the Tigers lost 4 of those 6 games.
  11. Hopkinsville is going to be tough simply by returning Taylor. I do not see them being as strong in '06 due to the experience factor. They lost a lot of 2 and 3 year starters this past season especially on the defensive side of the ball and in their lines. One thing you don't replace is experience. The QB position is key for the Tigers and while their QB does return and is very athletic, I don't see him being a lot better in the passing game. Their passing game consists mostly of screens and not much down the field throwing. That being said, Hopkinsville is always athletic and will present problems for most teams. It should be a battle with a much improved Tilghman squad once again for their district title.

  13. I'd say Bowling Green feels your pain.

  15. Very disappointing and embarassing defeat for the Dragons. It's not like X had been blowing teams out of the water prior to this game. X defeated Manual by 15 and JH by 1 while scoring just 33 and 21. How can a team come in that unprepared for a state semi final game?

  19. I agree, but Lawrence is a starter non-the less.
  20. Taylor and New Orleans transfer Lawrence are 2 impact starters that were not on the Hopkinsville team a year ago. They have made a significant difference in the Tigers.

  22. So in other words you agree with Massey. Interesting that John Hardin has not played 1 team in 11 games that has won more than 6 games.
  23. John Hardin also lost to a very average North Hardin team. This one will get ugly for John Hardin as Male rolls 49-12
