All CJ Defense

Offense wasn't listed on their website, and we don't get the C-J in our end of the State. Anybody got a link or a list?

They have Matt Sauerbeck listed as a Defensive End. Not a very accurate All State Team.

Sorry, AT41, the votes for this All-State team are supposed to come completely from HS Coaches votes -- the CJ is supposed to be simply the ones that count up the votes.

 

We're supposed to pick the best we've 'actually seen play' at each position and send them in to the CJ.

I think that the CJ does a great job because it takes the coaches vote (the people who have seen these kids on film and spend hours seeing who is actually the best player at each position). No offense to the AP but many times they vote on local kids that they see play (actually that is the way it should be). I think that we should take the CJ all state team and vote on it by classes. This would allow more kids to get named first team all state. I am looking at some of the second team kids and there were some great players on the team (the kid from Manuel--Stud DL and made second team).

Thats what i was thinking. Yeah the coaches have seen SOME guys but they havent seen all so some kids are get shafted. Atleast with the Sports writers they get out and see most of the guys in there area and some others.

Exactly. Sports writer dont see many if any kids outside there region and coaches really only see there guys and the teams that they play. So you really cant say one is better then the other.

Maybe a comination of both votes could somehow be developed to come up with a fairer system. :sssh:
