Hoptown put up 46 on the board against Franklin Simpson tonight so shouldn't be a shut out. I'll say:

Well didn't St. X only score like 13 on them earlier this year. I think there is a really good shot at them getting shut out. I think that I am going to have to pick BG in this one.

St.X scored 13 and had 2 (?) called back. This was the season opener at WKU with a very very late kickoff. Bowling Green has a monster D and a very fast hard running RB. Their speed and tackling on defense is impressive. Scoring on BG will be difficult.

Hopkinsville has a monster back that some repute is better than Mr. Anderson. Bowling Green's weak district tends to make them soft heading in to play-offs. They didn't look very dominating against Paducah Tilghman.

No way is Taylor better than Anderson. Hibbitt is as good as Anderson. Anderson will get free scholly to big school because of the X factor. If BG wins state and is there again next year Hibbitt will get nice school looks.

Hoptown will score, and they will score (GASP!) at least two times. However, I think Bowling Green's offense will come out a little better than they did against Tilghman (which is funny to say since BG scored 33 points). The real key to the game is that the offense doesn't need to be the cause of the defense's problems. That's what killed them against Madisonville last year as the offense fell to pieces and threw a couple of picks, which resulted in the TD's for Madville. The past two scores this season that were given up was because the offense put the defense in a bad spot, turning it over inside the 10 yard line. St. X & Central are really the only two teams that drove it on their first team defense, and they only scored three times between them. I think Hoptown will have at least one drive for TD, and BG's offense will turn it over at least once to result in another Hoptown TD, on the way to....

One was called back and the go-ahead score was created by a Bowling Green fumble at their own 20.

 

As for the very late kickoff ... it was at the same time for both teams, wasn't it? Why does that matter?

Hopkinsville has a good offense, mainly because of a good offensive line and Taylor, who is a very good RB with strength and speed. The Tigers don't throw the ball well, though, and Bowling Green's defense is tremendous. The only touchdown the Purples have given up in 35 quarters was on a 7-yard drive after a BG fumble.
