I'm not going to say much about this, but if you will dig around a little bit, I think you will find that the "smoke" didn't come from East Ridge, but came in another direction.

Turf is nice, but I guess I am old school. I love the grass! Its like in the NFL, get rid of the domes and play outside baby!

Belfry CAN beat them and had thier chances to do so in the Championship game. However, with that being said, Central has a TON of talent! Central had as much speed as I have seen. Cabble #54 on defense was unstopable, Belfry could not block this guy. He was as much a problem with them not being able to run the ball consistently as Central's overall speed was. I don't know what his game stats were, but I will bet he was in on at least 15 tackles in some way or another. In additon to that, Central is subject at anytime to break the big one, as they showed in the Championship game. Central also makes a lot of mistakes, penalties, turnovers, missed assignments. Teams can get away with that to a degree if they have superior talent. In order for Belfry to beat them this year they will have to not make any mistakes, figure a way to block Cabble, and contain Central's speed. Not an easy thing to do! It should be fun!

They always have speed to burn. They need to focus getting stronger.

I think the first half of the decade goes to Male, the second half of the decade, so far, goes to St. X.

I am not going to get into specific names of players that didn't get scholarship offers, but I would like to make a general statement. Colleges, especally the D-1 schools are looking for specific builds for positions. In saying that, I do realize that you have the occassional player that defies the specs the schools are looking for. There are a lot of kids that are very nice High School players that don't make it in College, just like there are a lot of nice College players that do not make it in the Pro's.

This sure is a tough job, limited numbers of students, players, and resources. Having a new consolidated LCC High school with the state of the art facilities doesn't help matters either. I wish him all the best with the new job!

They are going to have to bring on board some, if not all of the coaches from the other programs. This is a tricky move bringing all the schools together and they are going to have to show some unity.

Correction, Boyle Co. beat them once in the finals.

Highlands defeated them twice in the finals. Lex. Cath. has tripped them up in the playoffs several times in the past. I hear what you are saying about numbers, what I was saying is that with the exception of X and Trinity, those are the premier programs in the State.

Hmmmm........ I don't know, but I would like to see it! If memory serves, the last time they played, Raceland beat them. That has been some time ago though.

Ram, you are in a much better situation to know the condition of the Ironton program than I am. I made that statement based on past tradition. I do know that Raceland is a much improved progam over the last few years, and I do know that times and things change. If you guys do get to play them, best of luck to you!!!

In Rockcastle Co.'s defense, its awfully tough to win it all when you are in a class with Lex. Cath and Highlands. If they had been in 2A they would have some rings to thier credit.

You know more than anyone on here about the politics of the Pike Co. School System huh? LOL Maybe you don't know as much as you think. You never know who you are talking to on this board. LOL

Depends on the number of kids that are on the team. The B.O.E. would have no problem staffing 10 paid coaches if the numbers justified it.

I don't think Raceland can compete with Ironton. I think its good to upgrade the schedule, but I think that's a little above thier heads. I don't mean to offend anyone by saying that.

Wrong! H.C. Is $3,500.00 plus 18 extended days employment. A.C. is $2,500.00 plus 8 days extended employment.

Oh really? Hmmm......... Well Sir, I can assure you that E.R. is in much better shape overall than it has been. Its unfortunate that Coach Branham decided to leave, I really do hate that because I consider him to be a very good friend of mine. I can tell you that his leaving had nothing to do with any B.O.E member.

Coach B, I'm sorry that things didn't work out there. I have a feeling that you will be back on the football field very soon. I wish you the best of luck in your future coaching endeavors.
