I saw that the East Ridge job (that Joey Thacker had taken) is listed back on KHSAA website.

Yes Thacker is and has never left the FC staff, I believe East Ridge blew a lot of smoke his way but you know smoke disappears after a while.

I'm not going to say much about this, but if you will dig around a little bit, I think you will find that the "smoke" didn't come from East Ridge, but came in another direction.

Well, J.D. I think you will find that politics is in all school systems, in fact, politics is in everything. If you know someone, you have a greater chance of rising in any given profession. With that being said, if you are not "in" you have a lot of these avenues blocked. Just a fact of life. I do want to see E.R. make a solid commitment to whoever gets the job and give them some time to get the job done.

As would I. The people of ER will give you time and support those who are doing a good job, its just the politicians who think they know best and over there they have proven other wise.

 

They have the numbers in the school and the athletes to be competitive, they just need a coach that will be there longer than a year and is not a football/basketball coach.

Not all coaches got their job there via politics, But I can tell you that if you do not play politics you won't stay long. In my opinion Thaker is better off stayig at Franklin. He does a goodjob there and would have way less politics to deal with than at ER. With that being said they have great kids there and deserve to have a chance to build a program with a coach that gets a chance to build the program. I wish them the best.

I have talked to JT and he and his wife are very happy at FCHS. He tested the waters at ER and just wasn't comfortable with that situation at this point in his coaching career. Good luck to him and his young family.
