No, top two in the east would not play until at least round 4. Very likely if it is Bell and Lloyd at that point, they still may not play each other. It all depends on who is left. It resets every round beginning in the 3rd round.

Yes, a rabbit hole of trying to have Glasgow avoid CAL. Bardstown losing helped.. I don't think Lex Cath jumps Glasgow now if they beat Bardstown. Too many variables to really consider until the very last couple weeks but I'm realistically hoping Glasgow can be ahead of Bardstown/Lex Cath at the end of the year, giving them a 3rd seed in the west heading into round 3 and a matchup with Murray instead of CAL (absolutely nothing against Murray). Then maybe a trip to Bell County/Lloyd/Whoever else if Glasgow advances, then meeting CAL in the finals. I'm sure many fans have their own outlook for their teams. Can the RPI align perfectly so that their team can avoid CAL the longest.

Glasgow guy here, I've been playing the math game on if/how Glasgow can somehow avoid CAL...not saying the others are slouches or anything. Just trying to somehow get a 2/3 seed in the west. Trying to get to the 3/4/5 round and seeing what happens from there.

I hope he gets to make it as well! He's already in the Glasgow athletics hall of fame for his time here as a player and a coach.

Glasgow Scotties (7-0) and currently ranked #6 in the RPI for 3A take on the Larue County Hawks (4-3). Both have new coaches at the helm this season and have had relative success so far in their 2025 campaigns. The Scotties hope to keep the fireworks flying as they are averaging close to the 40 points a game as well as having the stingiest defense in the state regardless of class only giving up 35 points all season. Their last meeting was last year when the scotties beat LaRue 40-0 in the opening contest of the 2024 season, the Glasgow offense only having one negative yardage play the entire night. Larue is still really young, relying on several underclassmen, but seem to be headed in the right direction. Some would argue that Larue has a legitimate shot at becoming the number 2 seed in the district if they can overcome Hart County next week. What will the outcome look like this week? Glasgow is also celebrating their 700th win in school history, achieving this feat with the 64-12 victory on the road against Butler County on October 3rd (Same night as Middlesboro) and have invited every available Scottie to come home to Scottie Field and be recognized after the game. I believe all the former head coaches will be signing an autographed ball for the occasion. I think Coy Meadows, Ricky Wood, and Jeff Garmon will definitely be in attendance. I will assume Billy Lindsey will not be able to make it, since he is currently on Bowling Green's staff.

Glasgow and Bardstown really lost last night having to play Butler and Casey. 3A RPI will be crazy with so many unbeaten teams. Glasgow needs to beat Franklin Simpson and some other things to happen to get a 2 or 3 seed in the west for the 3rd round in all attempts to avoid CAL.

Everybody probably has a different take on this. I’ve seen so many different variations of this. I’ve seen programs play games on fall break, programs have 3-4 practices, and programs take fall break completely off. I’ve wondered if anyone ever tried to take a team somewhere for the week and play a team out of state in a vacation area. Kind of like how baseball teams travel for spring break and play games. Any thoughts?

I think Wrestling Regions may be different than Basketball and Baseball, but it seems like the Bowling Green area schools in the 4th region have decided to adopt wrestling as a high school sport and a lot of schools in the SOKY area are finally beginning this process in some measure and degree. What does this mean in the state as a whole? How do you start a program from scratch? Will they compete Varsity or just have scrimmages with each other?

If you are willing to move opportunities are open everywhere, I wouldn't hold that against him. He is just all about football. He also helps with a lot of middle school stuff in the state from an administrative standpoint and is really all about football. He's done a great job at Glasgow thus far and to me coaching is a string of 1 year contracts, as long as he is fulfilling his commitments, what more can you ask. He's a young adult who doesn't have any roots yet, why wouldn't he go and see what is out there and network before he gets tied to an area.

I’ve also heard he’s a shoe in back at southwestern when Foley ends up leaving, the dude is 23 and name being thrown around like this… can we say wonder-kin? He might as well take over Trinity or UK and get Stoops out of there lol.

Glasgow/Butler Livestream

"Losing quickly" is a lost art. Plenty of teams who throw the ball a lot and lose by 50 could run the ball and lose by 21 just by getting about 7-8 first downs and flipping the field.

They may be better at advising the students on how best to fill out the paperwork.

I have mixed feelings about the livestreams. I completely appreciate having them and almost every broadcast is satisfactory to me with quality. I do worry about funds being allocated to the school that they are missing out on. I know that should be the farthest thing from our minds, but I think it does have a great effect. We had a rivalry game recently that between the two livestream's had nearly 16k views. I know that not everyone would have went to the games, but I do know that there were about 3,000 in attendance, that to me leaves so much money on the table for the schools. Imagine gate money at $15,000 vs $45,000 if everyone came and tickets were $5/each. I know not everyone would be able to come and I don't want sit here and complain that technology really is making our experiences better, I also think there are more football fans now than ever. I do think its sad when the stands aren't nearly full and there are so many people watching from home, even on good weather nights. I don't know what the fix is, I don't want to blame the livestreams, I do want to make the crowd more exciting.

To my knowledge, every transfer starts out ineligible if they have played varsity the year before. It is up to the student to explain the reason and if it is deemed valid the KHSAA grants an exception. Typically address changes are the most common way to almost always become eligible. I don't want to jump to conclusions, but even if the school they are leaving flags it as not a bonafide address change, the students can appeal it. If they claim for academic reasons, they don't have to move addresses, but have to prove the new place is better than their other options that would be more reasonable (other Hardin County Schools). If they get denied and try to change the reason, it gets heavily scrutinized. Most common reasons in KY that players get eligible is an address change, academic reasons, safety and bullying. We all know that some of these are farces, but it's about what the kid can prove reasonably.

Danville at 2? I don't mean any disrespect, but I am assuming that won't be that way forever... They get the bump from playing the 5A and 4A schools.... but surely that will come down by the end of the year right?

Nothing Surprising here, Interested to see how it ends up in the end, a lot of week 11 games that could really decide things as well as district games the next few weeks. Games to watch that could really shake things up in the next few weeks will be the Bell County/Rockcastle game, Bardstown/Lexington Catholic, Lloyd/Bourbon. Those interesting Week 11 games will be Lexington Catholic/Ashland Blazer, Glasgow/Franklin-Simpson, and Bell County/Pulaski that I have noticed. And WHAT IF CENTRAL BEATS CAL again... man how much would that change things up.

Glasgow is currently 6-0 and are coming off snapping a 4 game losing streak to the Hart County Raiders last week. Glasgow's offense has been able to spread the ball around to multiple guys and have not been reliant on a single person. Friday was Sr. QB Hudson Gumm's turn to take over, having almost 200 yards passing (8/11 with WR having 2 drops) and over 100 yards rushing and accounting for 4 total TD. Their stingy defense shut down Hart's Potent ground attack and if not being misaligned on a singular play would have only allowed 150 total yards the entire game running and passing. The Glasgow Scotties have redeemed 4 of their 6 losses from last year with only the loss to Franklin-Simpson being readily redeemable this regular season. (Union County as a potential 2nd round matchup). Will they lose focus this week and slip up with a much improved Butler County? Or is the talent gap too much for Butler to overcome?
