Records: PT 4-1  l ACS 0-5

Tilghman comes in to this game on a fresh start to a new winning streak. After having the state's longest streak snapped against Madisonville, they bounced back with a 35-14 win over Franklin Simpson.

ACS, after having a really good 9-3 season a year ago, have just fallen on hard times this go around. They can't get much going on the ground or through the air and have only scored 46 points (9.2 ppg). Through the first 4 games, they were at less than 125 ypg in total offense. 2 of the td's were on a punt and kick return.

The following is insight provided by @DragonFire on their last game post.

"Counting the last game of last season, this is the sixth consecutive loss for Allen County, their longest losing streak in three years.  They are at Paducah Tilghman next week - a certain loss - which will put them at their longest losing streak since 1996.  This is their worst start to a season since 2007 (Brad Hood's second season at the helm) and when they lose next week, it will be their worst start since 2005 (the last year before Brad Hood took over)".

Not good for the Patriots heading into this one.

Tilghman should be able to work on some things in this game to get ready for what should be a 6-0 Logan County by the time they play them the week after in the first October game. PT qb Stone Crowe now has at least 1 interception in every game this season. That's something they'll want to continue to work on as we move along.

Last, but certainly not least, I want to extend my thanks once again to @Purple88 for taking over for me last week. He even taught the class a lesson about "The Life of Riley", which I got to live over the last 7 days. It has me refreshed and definitely not looking forward to the real world again. The information provided in that game post was as good as it gets and I'm a huge fan, I'd read anything he puts out, sports related or not. It's superb!

Go ahead and run that clock.

It’s the perfect time for this Blue Tornado team to get back to its dominant ways before hosting Logan County next week. That will be their toughest test the rest of the year and will likely decide the District Champion.

The Patriots just haven’t looked good in any phase, Coach Hood may have bitten off more than he can chew dealing with AD duties as well. I remember this summer reading an article of him talking about Boys volleyball in our State and how it was rising in popularity, not even sure that statement is true but that is an example of other responsibilities that start to dig into time you normally would of spent with your own team. Scottsville is a great place to be on football Friday nights, hope they can figure it out.

Tilghman seems outta sync right now to me. Any thoughts?

PTH, I just don't think they are focused at all.  And Tilghman isn't the only one around unfocused.

When they are, they are as good as anyone playing.  When they aren't, they can't beat Madisonville on the road and will continue to play sloppy.  It's a tough ask, when you're easily better than the other team and feel you can just turn it on when you need to.  But that's a double-edged sword when the clock strikes zero and you lose.

I agree besides the Mayfield game we’ve only seen flashes of what Tilghman can do. They looked to be a top three team in the sate against Mayfield, the rest of the games have left me screaming what is going on while watching. One thing I will say is the defense seemed to be playing better, Franklin Simpson only scored one touchdown on the defense.

I like the Maroons this year, very physical and made Tilghman play a drawn out game, plus their defense forced a couple turnovers. I do think Tilghman has looked sloppy but nothing you can pinpoint, some inexperience, high expectations, and to be frank not many games that come off as a threat. I expect them to get it rolling when it matters but a concern if I was Coach Thompson nonetheless.

I agree PT has not played great the last 2 games but I think Madisonville played a part in that.every coach from here on out is gonna try and do what MNH did and slow the game down and keep PT offense off the field.I think Madisonville is a top 3-4 in 5A.they play at Graves Co Friday night so we will see how that games go.

Blue Tornado can send their varsity home at halftime and the JV guys will be on their way 24 minutes later with about 3 more scores.

The running clock is already in effect.
