Its not usual field turf. Most of CAL players wear turf shoes over cleats. When Cooper scrimmaged them, Cooper had guys slipping like they were playing in the mud. It was wild.

After watching what Ryle did to Conner, I don't think this one will be much of a game. SK will have to play some defense this week, but I see them being able to score a bunch. Probably a 40 something to 20 something type game.

I hope Ryle is aware of the CAL turf and has the appropriate footwear. Otherwise, this game will be a shell of what it could be.

He's aware. SK lost 35-7 to cooper this year in a scrimmage. Scrimmages don't count for anything though. Nothing real about it. If anything, SK is overrated at 11 IMO.

I second this and would not be surprised if they transition #9 into the QB role and use #7 in different ways to allow him to make a bigger impact.

Highlands 56-7

Love the size trumps all guys. I haven't seen Dixie so I can't speak to anything but their scrimmage results. I'd be shocked if they don't win this game.

If lex cath plays Highlands the way they played SK and Bardstown I expect the bluebirds to win by as much as they want. It won't be close and Highlands won't have to throw the ball one time to name the score.

The head coach that lead Purcell to their 10-3 record was forced to resign over [redacted] allegations brought to the AD by a rival football coach. He was only there one year. Since then, Purcell has lost 3 or 4 starters from last years team as they transferred out of the school. They also lost some quality players to graduation. I would expect beechwood to win that scrimmage handily.

My stance was 1st offense is a meeting with myself and the AD. 2nd offense is parent suspension from the next home game. 3rd offense is indefinite suspension from home sporting events. If a student athlete is the one spouting off, then its a meeting with myself and the coaching staff for 1st offense, game suspension for 2nd offense. Of course, as a coach, you have to have the AD, superintendent, and school board's support in this, otherwise you have no leg to stand on. My other technique for dealing with angry parents is the 24 hour rule: If you see something in a game, or you're angry about something, wait 24 hours before bringing it to the coach. Nothing productive gets done when acting on emotion. Cool down, think about it, and if you're still riled up, then give me a call and we can set up a meeting. I should note, after outlining this in my opening season parent meeting, I've never had to worry about it.

As a coach of 18 years, having experience with kids and their parents from ages 5 thru 18 in football youth through varsity, I understand exactly where he is coming from. A miserable group of parents can kill a team from the inside out. Would I have done that at the end of season banquet? Nah, I'd definitely address it at the beginning of the next season parent meeting though. And, to take it one step further, I would include it in the participation code of conduct contract that I would have each player and parent sign. Then, when Johnny's mom or dad wants to run their mouth on social media or in the stands, they will already know the consequences.

He's a KHSAA official for football and basketball. Also helps coach a select softball team in NKY. Great guy. Pretty involved. Pretty knowledgeable.
