Beechwood vs. Purcell Marian (OH) (Scrimmage) (8/16)

This should be a good scrimmage for Beechwood.  I believe Purcell is D5 in Ohio, they were 10-3 last year and lost to Valley View in the playoffs 31-22.  Calpreps says the game last year on a neutral field would have been 34-21 Beechwood. 

Anyone going to the scrimmage?

Beechwood hosts Purcell Marion from Cincinnati in their second scrimmage, kick off scheduled for 7 pm. My understanding is this will be played under game condition rules.

Purcell Marion plays in Division III in Ohio. Last year they were 10-3.

Took a visit to the "Yappi" site you linked and their interface is severely lacking, IMO. It goes without saying, but we are spoiled here at BGP.

I have chatted with the owner of Yappi before and I liked him.  And you can't deny he has a huge following.  Either way, I want to move past anything personal and just be thankful Yappi is there providing info on Ohio High School Football.

The head coach that lead Purcell to their 10-3 record was forced to resign over [redacted] allegations brought to the AD by a rival football coach. He was only there one year. Since then, Purcell has lost 3 or 4 starters from last years team as they transferred out of the school. They also lost some quality players to graduation. I would expect beechwood to win that scrimmage handily.

I’ll be there and try to update! Looks like bad weather should be out of the area by 1pm, hope I’m not wrong.

Beechwood should have their way with Purcell.  They lost a ton, and last year, didn't beat anyone good (only beat 2 teams with winning records).  And their New Head Coach is Chris Mobley, who was Dixie's DC last year.  And he is not a good coach to put it lightly.  He's had multiple HC jobs in Cincy, and none were even remotely successful.  He took a job at a Cincinnati Public School in February, then resigned 2 months later to take the Purcell Marian job.  

If Beechwood doesn't dominate every aspect of this scrimmage, I'd be shocked and they have some work to do.

Purcell is definitely Division 6 in Ohio, last year they were Division 5.

Wow. With that said, how bad is Bethel Tate? Purcell Marion beat them 42-0 last week.
