Newport Central Catholic at Campbell County Prediction/Updates
Any injury updates for Campbell Co if any? It looks like almost everyone is looking to play Friday for NewCath. I heard a kid from Campbell Co went down recently but no idea his (or the team's) status this week.

Raceland 56 Newport Central Catholic 27
I hope they did nothing but the tackling circuit and film study all bye week. I am sure they will continue to tweak the lineup as well. The front 3 need to get pressure, fill their gaps and the LB's need to fill and finish.

Newport Central Catholic at Campbell County Prediction/Updates
Both teams coming off a much needed bye week. NewCath has a good chance to play their projected preseason starters this week for the first time all year. They are gonna need everyone if they want to contain the Anthrop’s and Bertram, who have the majority of the production from their Lloyd game. Who ya got and why?

Raceland 56 Newport Central Catholic 27
As far as extracurricular stuff going on...it seemed the Refs never saw the first, only the reaction to it. Players have to have the awareness/discipline of not reacting and just keep playing. Raceland has a great facility and the atmosphere is awesome on Friday nights. Raceland fans (the ones I came into contact) were very gracious and accommodating. As for "changes" alluded to in previous posts....It does not matter what defense NC runs. The change that needs to happen is our tackling. We have to become a better tackling team on defense/special teams if we are to get past that 3rd round quagmire we seem to have. As for District play, everything comes through NewCath, NewCath fans expect a very similar outcome as every other previous year when it comes to the district.

Newport Central Catholic at Raceland Predictions/Updates
Newport Catholic heads down south to take on the Rams this Friday. NCC going through it right now after taking another beating from Connor. Raceland comes in after a 64-14 beatdown of Mercer Co to make up for the wild finish against Pikeville. From the stats it looked like Raceland did whatever they wanted against Mercer. If NewCath doesn't come ready to play, this matchup may have the same outcome. Hopefully NewCath gets some guys back this week and have everyone back on the field at the same time. Raceland rolls regardless. Who you taking?

Conner 42 Newport Central Catholic 7
Congrats to Connor on a dominating performance. NewCath has some obvious issues they need to figure out quickly. Hopefully things get turned around when they get all their guys back up front.

Newport Central Catholic at Conner Predictions/Updates
I think so. Definitely closer than the games these two teams have played in thus far.

Newport Central Catholic at Conner Predictions/Updates
Single A NewCath (1-2) travels to 5A Conner (0-3). NewCath coming off its first victory with a beat down of Boone Co, as Conner is looking for its first one after a 40-27 loss to Lloyd. This one looks to be interesting as NewCath seems to still be figuring some things out in the trenches. NCC QB Miles had himself a day last Friday, 14/15 completions with 176 yards 3 passing TD's and 2 rushing. Conner QB Montgomery put up solid numbers as well 21 of 39 attempts passing for 325 yards and 4 passing TD's....This one has the makings of a shootout. Who you taking in this one?

Beechwood vs. Newport Central Catholic Predictions/Updates
Week to week it appears. Lots of young new faces up front last week. Great experience for district/playoffs. Really excited to watch the Freshman Meyer grow into his role. Great kid who gets it!

Beechwood vs. Newport Central Catholic Predictions/Updates
Beechwood makes the short trip to take on NewCath in Park Hills. NewCath is licking their wounds after getting smacked in the mouth by a solid Lloyd football team. It’s not getting any easier for NewCath this week with the Tigers on deck. The Breds better get some answers to the questions that Lloyd exposed. Who ya got?

Newport Central Catholic at Lloyd Memorial Predictions/Updates
Can't add much about Lloyd at this point in the season. I will say Eddie Bivens is going to be a problem for teams, on both sides of the ball. If NewCath can stay healthy, they can be as good as they want to be. Sandfoss has been rehabbing an injury and they are a different OL when he returns.

Ryle vs. Beechwood Predictions/Updates (Scrimmage)
I do not care what anyone says, Beechwood will reload and have another great season. It's just what they do.

2025 Bracken County Polar Bears
The football field and stadium could certainly use some TLC...but the view of the sun setting from the football field is one incredible view. Hoping the Polar Bears have a great season. Those kids have been working hard since last year. I would love to see Burton and Whitten line up next to each other from time to time...SHEESH those are some big strong mammals!!! Tarter behind those two...stop it ?, may not be fair to some of their opponents.

2025 Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds
Dead period started so will definitely know more once they put on the pads and can report back. Stadium looks iffy at best due to all the rain in the spring. I heard 50 days behind schedule. Some new faces up front and need to find out how they are going to replace the production on both sides of the ball due to graduated Seniors. Cannot wait to see the crowd at the first game in the new stadium. I hope they can get it done before this season ends.

Anyone go to the game? How do my Breds look this year?- State of Northern Kentucky Football
NKY football fans are like SEC football fans. We beat each other up all year, then get behind whoever makes it out alive. I'll take the (9th region) every year against the rest of the state. NKY was 5 points from having 7 teams representing in the semi's. Good luck to all NKY teams still alive.- Campbellsville 27 Newport Central Catholic 24
He absolutely plays like a Thoroughbred!!! You got a good one down there. Congrats on the victory and best of luck to you rest of the season.- Campbellsville 27 Newport Central Catholic 24
Fair response and I do understand where you are coming from. It's just a different philosophy in that certain situation. If NCC gets the first down, game over. If they don't, Cville still has to do what they did, which was unbelievable effort on their part. NCC had plenty of chances to put it away after the failed 4th and one. The game didn't end for NCC on that play, however it would have for Cville. Just didn't go NCC way after that.- Campbellsville 27 Newport Central Catholic 24
Totally disagree. If NCC gets one yard the game is over. Granted, the ball should have went to #26 to get one yard. I liked the decision on the sideline. End the game right there.- Newport Central Catholic 41 Bishop Brossart 14
God love the small school rivalry...- Newport Central Catholic 41 Bishop Brossart 14
Yes, I would say losing in the third or fourth round is much better than losing in the second round. Playing in a regional championship (3rd round) and playing in Final Four (4th round) is a bigger deal and garners respect from around the state. Brossart hasn't won their district since the realignment, because they can’t beat Ludlow. I honestly could not tell you the last time NCC lost their district. success is definitely different according to each program. Until Brossart gets to competing at NCC’s level, the beat downs NCC will hand Brossart in round 2 will only continue. Brossart needs to deal with Ludlow before they even think about beating NCC.- Newport Central Catholic 41 Bishop Brossart 14
Were you at the game? Brossart trending upwards and NCC trending downwards after what happened last night is a ridiculous statement. It makes me question any kind of credibility you think you may have when talking about high school sports on a message board. What or who is Brossart FB program catching up to?- Bishop Brossart vs. Newport Central Catholic Predictions/Updates
Brossart gets an opportunity tonight to show just how much they have closed the gap. 2011 NewCath 62-0 2012 NewCath 58-0 2013 NewCath 41-0 2014 NewCath 36-0 - Newport Central Catholic 73 Holmes 53
