I was wondering the same thing about the 300 plus yards every game. I watched some of last night's game on the SK FB page just out of curiosity. I think Verax will be good but he is quite inaccurate at this point. Makes nice things happen with his legs and has some good talent around him. I have no dog in this fight but I have seen him compared to the Frosh QB at Cooper. On film, the Cooper player is way ahead at this point simply because he has now played almost an entire season at the Varsity level. Over the last few games, he has become much more confident. They both will hopefully continue to grow and get stronger. They both need some time in the weight room but hey, they are 14 years old. Ryle and Cooper should feel good about these two over the next few years.

Are Will these games be streamed anywhere? I don't think I can bring myself to make it over to Park Hills two nights in a row! ?

Bishop Brossart looks to be open on 10/21. Would be a great fill game for NCC with Bellevue dropping their season. Unfortunately, it looks like Brossart already has 10 games scheduled.

The Boone game was canceled a while ago. So Boone JV and Frosh both canceled vs. Highlands to play other teams. I don't think the Frosh were able to get a game. Unfortunate for them.

This is true. Bellevue has become a hot spot for young professionals. The issue is when they begin having families, they either move or they send their kids to private schools in Ohio, NCC or pay tuition at Highlands. I know it has been discussed and there would be hurdles but I would love to see Bellevue and Dayton combine. Maybe even add in Newport.

So the coaches aren’t that good? It is all talent? I am not personally familiar with these 2 coaches but have been told that Mueller made lesser talent believe they were better and made them very successful.

With Rodriquez out, who are the main weapons besides the QB and Leen?

Many freshmen played around a quarter in both the Conner and Boone games. Not sure of the exact number. Probably around 8. 21 Freshmen dressed for the Boone game.

Boone County canceled this week to play a different team on Saturday.

I am glad this worked out but what is everyone’s opinion on schools canceling on a Wednesday/Thursday to play another team? Leaves the other team scrambling to find a team and officials. Doesn’t seem right.

A win by CCH on 10/14 would be 10 in a row.

@Colonels_Wear_Bluedoesn't miss much! 2020 was and odd season with COVID in high gear. Lots of cancellations and CCH and HHS were clearly the top 2 teams that season. It was a nice job by the two staffs playing multiple times as it made them all better.

In 2020, they split. CCH won 12-6 at CCH and HHS won at HHS 21-7.

Not many but JV the last 2 seasons. The current juniors and seniors beat CCH as freshman. Again, it doesn’t matter if it doesn’t translate to varsity wins.

Lots of potential but poor tackling and bad penalties on defense and depend on 2 players on offense even though there are many other options. Super soft schedule compared to last season. I hope these issues don't spill over into High School. Always seem to have a ton of guys sitting out of practices also. I am concerned because I see a lot of jersey pulling on defense vs. hitting and wrapping. I see a lot of that with the Frosh team also. Definitely a good group but they aren't being pushed enough this season.

Not knowing how the RPI really works, is it pretty certain Raceland and Pikeville will end up 1 and 2 or not have to meet until the finals? I know this may correct itself as the games are played out but Raceland is currently 7 and Pikeville is 9. It would be a shame if these two met before the Finals.

Definitely some areas to improve. I was concerned about the Oline entering the season. They are undersized but they have only given up 3 sacks the entire season and none since week 2. They average 350 yards of offense per game including 140 yards rushing per game. Not great but definitely serviceable.

At this point last season, HHS was in the middle of a 4 game losing streak and only went on to win 2 more games the rest of the season. They have won 4 in a row and A win Friday matches last season’s win total with all winnable games left prior to playoffs. Yes, I know they still have CCH. Total opposite direction for this team vs. last year’s team at this point.
