my logic is, I haven't seen Woodford beat a team with comparable talent since Dennis took the job. They win the games they have way better talent but never win the games that a team has as good or as close to as good as talent. Bourbon had a much smaller roster and much less talent. therefore must be coaching.

Trent Fields is a good coach. I would like to see what he could do with a team of high level athletes.

Coaching is the issue at Woodford. They have so much more talent than Bourbon ... no excuse for this outcome. Woodford will never get past Scott Co. or maybe a couple others. They have the players just not the coaching. In my humble opinion. This game should have been a complete blowout.

I think Highlands will be fine, they will not face another defense as solid as Douglass.

I will say I have always felt that Douglass strength and condition coach, Ed Towle is the best in the business. However I think Highlands had a few players going both ways and Douglass did not. I was surprised Highlands scored 20 points on that d. As I stated earlier I thought 14 would be max. Overall good start for the Broncos!

Please define thump. They scored 7 in 4 qtrs last year. Basically the exact same players and same coaches for Douglass as last year, and that was at their place. If they score 14 they had some extremely lucky breaks. Similar to St. X having the Douglass punter drop the ball and give it to them on the 5. Otherwise the varsity portion of the scrimmage would have been 0-0 with Talbert only playing about 6-7 snaps and still rushing for like 75 yards or more. It will be a great game as Highlands has a great front 7 as well.

This comment tells me everything I need to know about your knowledge of building a TEAM and program from scratch. He is a GREAT coach and a GREAT hire. I'm glad you at least said time will tell. My prediction is next year, regardless of their talent level they will be drastically improved. I will say... I mean no disrespect to Kevin, as he is a great coach and human. Landis will get it done.

I think you misunderstood. However since you want to go this route. I can show you clips of film if you like. Football is a team sport and yes your team won. I acknowledge and respect that. This was not a diss to Trinity kids. Wish you the best! The best TEAM won.

Correct. It was a rule up until 2 years ago. The only schools playing Douglass have been Station (in same district so they have no choice) and Tates Creek. On players transferring.... Tates Creek had several players transfer in and start or play major roles, two of which were from Douglass, their Rb transferred from LCA.

Not being confrontational, just get tired of the Douglass gets all the perks talk... You do not have completely factual information. The school that was hurt the most by FDHS opening was Bryan Station. Kids didn't choose FD, they went to the school that was their district, year one most Clay kids stayed at Clay. Station was decimated that first year or so, they made a good hire and rebuilt quickly. IMO- Clay has continued to make excuses, they have over 2000 students and 8 years, there has been time and there are players in the building. Ty Bryant - carter G Woodson _ lived in Bryan Station district Horton - Douglass district Neal - Douglass district, both younger brothers were Carter G Chenault - Douglass district Clay - Douglass district Thomas Howard - Douglass district Not sure about Hicks but assume Douglass district.

Don’t disagree but hate that these kids only get to play two city teams this year…. It’s a double edged sword. Douglass development as a program will be if it from play nationally ranked teams, but I have always loved the City rivalries….

Score was 21-20 Douglass at the end of 3 varsity qtrs. Thus the reason X went for two point conversion late in 3rd. and dint get it.
