This surprised me, but it doesn’t look like Travis Perry ever repeated a grade. The big difference being you can play varsity basketball in 7th grade in Ky and you obviously can’t play football in 7th. Perry actually averaged 21 PPG in 7th grade - they mostly played small schools in Western Ky. So Perry actually had 6 seasons to get the scoring record, but none of those were due to a holdback.

I have not heard anything on that. But you are correct in that it is James 5th year. I looked back and he shared time at QB his 1st Freshman year. I think he ended up having 10 TD passes that year.

I think PT really missed RB DJ Wilson last week although the Hintons did a very good job in relief. I hope he’s healthy tonight, but I’m not sure if he is.

I had heard that Fitzgerald was close to returning. He was the 3rd leading tackler last year. Led the team with 20 TFLs and also had 3 sacks.

It looked like DJ Wilson had an ankle sprain and I’m guessing he may be out this Friday. He got tackled from behind but it wasn’t a horse collar or anything like that. Possibly a high ankle sprain. The other Hinton looked pretty good in his relief. So will T Pride not be doing updates this Friday night???

They have an impressive number of WRs that goes 7+ deep. One of them that I am not familiar with is Brendan Brown and I think he has offers from UK and Ole Miss. The Coach’s son is a Freshman (holdback) and has offers from UK and U of L - A. Thompson. There are several other very good ones - Josh Campbell and Hinton (committed to Vandy. Probably the two defensive names that stand out to me are X Cleary on the D line and Mooney - a LB.

Man y’all! The Tornado didn’t lose very much from last year and then they added a D-1 commit (Vanderbilt) and some other guys too That was a pretty close game at Cov Cath last year and admittedly I don’t know what all CC loses. I think a lot of it will come down to RPI and where the semi games are. But I’ve got the Tornado 2nd!

This is a little random. Lately I’ve been taking my son to Noble Park a few times a week and there are teens EVERYWHERE! A couple questions for y’all: 1. Are y’all seeing the same thing in your community? I mean it has really surprised me the number of kids. 2. Do you think the KHSAA would consider making Pickleball a sport? I assume it would take a few years.

I’m not sure if the loss of Klope flip flops PT and McCracken? PT has really struggled to beat the Mustangs over the past 5+ years. With Woodfork, Wilkins, Campbell, and I guess the Vikings transfer - Tilghman should be able to score the basketball. I still obviously think Calloway and Marshall are 1/2. Any other news out there from Region 1?

Man I really hate that for him. He’s a great player - really good size and handles the ball well for his size too! If he won’t be available next year then I still expect Klope to have a big senior year.

D Wolf’s Top 10 would be: 1. Calloway Co (can they get over the hump?) 2. Marshall Co. (don’t lose much from the Region 1 title team) 3. McCracken Co. (always towards the top of Region 1) 4. Tilghman (guards, guards and more guards. Do they have any size?) 5. St. Mary (return quite a trio but not much else) 6. Murray (lose 4 key seniors but lots of young talent) 7a. Graves Co (watch out for Waller) 7b. Mayfield (also has a lot of young talent) 9. Carlisle Co. (should win District 1 again) 10. Ballard Co (Jace Birney!) What would y’all change?

Breaking News from E Chumbler’s twitter. The Mustangs hired Tyler Brooks who was their OC last year. He has some ties to the Henderson County program. Played there and was also an Assistant there.

PT’s QB Jack James has committed to Troy. He had an outstanding Junior year.

Congrats to the Marshall County Marshals - 1st Sweet 16 appearance since 2012. Please don't look back at my preview post and see that I predicted them 9th. (Cats Pause had them 8th, and the Sun coaches' poll had them 6th). I was familiar with Langhi, but I did not think he could have the impact that he has had as a Freshman. This team is a very balanced team - they don't shoot a ton of 3s, but they make them at a decent clip of 38%. Here are four notable players from the Marshals: Matthew Langhi, 6'4" Freshman. 13.1 PPG & 4.7 PPG. Mostly plays facing the basket, and he is a very good shooter from all over the floor. Alex Staples, 5'11" Junior. 14.8 PPG. Doesn't shoot a lot of 3s, and can really get to the rim. Good athlete. Tommy Robertson, 6'1" Junior. 8.9 PPG & 3.3 RPG. Another great athlete. The 1st of two soccer stars on this team. Logan Parker, 6'4" Senior. 7.8 PPG & 6.3 RPG. This is the 2nd of the soccer players. Great mustache. This is one of those guys that does all of the little things to win. So I'm the 1st Region guy and I'll have to stick with my West Kentucky (the REAL West KY!) teams. I'll take the Marshals in a tight one. Marshall Co. 67, Adair Co. 65 I plan on doing a "Way Too Early" preview of next year after the Sweet 16. Surprising spoiler alert - the Marshals won't be #1.

Where can one find the seating capacity for the gyms? I would think Otis Dinning Gym has sufficient capacity but I could be wrong.
