The eleventh edition of the "Rumble on the River" is upon us, and this series has definitely had it's share of coaching changes for this to be such a short history, this year no different. 

McCracken will enter this matchup with first year head coach Tyler Brooks, who was an assistant on the Mustangs staff previously. Tilghman coach Sean Thompson will begin his 4th season with the Tornado, and although he's had a lot of postseason success thus far, including taking his team to the state title game his first season in 2021, he has some real pressure for this talent packed team to make yet another deep run at a minimum. 

Tilghman has won 7 of the 10 games played so far, including the last 5 in a row. McCracken last won in 2017 and the two teams did not play during the shortened season of 2020. 

McCracken does return some key players this season in JR Qb Maddox O'Neal and SR Wr Cooper Faclonite, who I believe is one of the better underrated receivers in the state, he can flat out make big plays. Another name I personally think could be under the radar is SR Wr/Db Carter Ivitts, who came on really strong in the defensive backfield later in the season last year. McCracken lost a couple All West Kentucky Conference players in Frankie Nutt (Lb/D End) and Brody Phelps (OL), both really good players. 

Tilghman is no stranger to the stat sheet with Jack James (5th year Sr Qb) back for his final season at the helm. He broke nearly every Tilghman passing record last season and moved up towards the top in all-time state stats. He did lose his top receiver in Starks, but should be minimized by the fact that they went 6 or 7 deep at the receiver spot last year. Martels Carter Jr had a big role there last season as well and should even see a bigger role on offense this year as he tries to make his bid for Kentucky's Mr. Football as an all around athlete who will play all over the field in all 3 phases. Coach Thompson's son, Avery, who will be a Freshman this season, already has multiple D1 offers and should make an immediate impact at what I would suspect to be several different positions. Sophomore OL Jarvis Strickland (6'6 300) will anchor the offensive line and is a big prospect as well in the class of 2026. 

Is there a scenario where an improving Mustang team from late last season can pull off the upset? Mustang Nation, chime in and let us know. I see a lot of pieces coming back into the fold and I know you guys are excited. I could see if possibly being closer than anticipated if things go well, but it will be a tall task to outright win this one. Good luck to both teams this season and may you both reach your full potential.

PT wins without much trouble in my opinion. They will be a force to reckon with this season unquestionably.

Running clock maybe first quarter. Tilghman rolls. 

Paducah Tilghman has a Senior laden team, if they avoid injuries and penalty bug they have a good shot at a State Championship. This hopefully will be somewhat competitive game Paducah Tilghman by 5 scores 42-7.

Tilghman will roll by 50 in this game. 

I'm not deviating from the status quo in here. I'm looking for all PT, all the time. If there's an air tight case to be made for Tilghman as the biggest threat to Boyle County's dynasty, these are the games where the Tornado need to leave no doubt from the opening kick.

I’d go for the fish sandwich,although you have to go to the visitor side concession stand to get it!

My understanding they are having a BBQ dinner that's free for all prior to the game, probably in the grassy area of the HUB.
