I would say they are the favorite the big question will be injuries. I have seen a lot of great teams become mediocre after a couple of key injuries it happened with Glasgow last year they lost all those players and then just barely beat Casey Co and Franklin and then Coach Garmon just started giving the ball to Stockton and they managed to turn it around and win the region. I don’t care who you are if you lose your three fastest players it’s going to make a difference.

Seems like every team will get it sooner or later which is kind of sad. Man I miss walking on that field and smelling that grass that was great.

Same schedule as last year they just swapped Woodford for John Hardin. Russellville will probably not be near as good this year as they lost several 5th year seniors. I expect the main challenges on this schedule to be John Hardin, Greenwood and Taylor and then maybe Franklin if they have improved from the last couple years. But I don’t think it would be impossible to go 10-0 this year but if they went 8-2 I wouldn’t be shocked either.

That seems like a good schedule for this team.

Where did he transfer from.

They better hope they keep talent because if they ever have a down year they would get destroyed. But if they seen a bad class coming they would adjust the schedule I’m sure.

I’m glad they play St X. Because between their district and playing all the local schools there’s just no challenge.

No I was saying I will give you Male as being someone that can beat those two but Manual never does. They are competitive but ain’t beating them on any kind of regular basis.

I give you Male and Manual plays competitive games but they never win. At some point and time you have to wonder what’s the point. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

If I was a public school I wouldn’t play Trinity or St X either they are like Alabama they get the best players every year what’s the point of getting your brains beat out by the same team every year that clearly has advantages that you don’t have.

Why waste money on new uniforms if you’re starting a new school and that is really sad that a team that’s been around for 118 years is suddenly no more.

This may have been covered at some point in this thread and if so I apologize in advance. I was just wondering if anyone knows if they might lose some players from the team caused from people moving away because the factory is gone or might have lost their residence and decided to move to a different location. Tough question but I think it is a legitimate one.

I’m assuming their little league is busted up with each elementary having a separate little league team. If that’s the case I wish more counties would do this instead of just naming the teams after NFL teams and having a draft. I think this would give the little fellas a school to play for something they could have pride in.

They need to do it because of tradition. Why does everyone want to change the game. It’s like the NFL moving the extra point back why, because they say it’s to easy it’s supposed to be easy it’s only worth one point and it’s rewarding the team for driving for a touchdown or them wanting to eliminate the kickoff that’s so stupid the game was built with these rules quit changing stuff if it ain’t broke don’t fix it and the game ain’t broke.

Taylor will probably do very well against this schedule as it doesn’t look like they challenged themselves a whole lot. However I do feel like they need to develop at least a little bit of a passing game, it’s hard to consistently beat good teams like Glasgow and the teams they would see in the playoffs after the first round if all they ever do is run the ball. Good coaches can develop a great defensive scheme if there is never any fear of the pass.

Is LC supposed to be better in the next couple years because they weren’t a very good team this year.

Kieran Stockton at Glasgow yes I know he’s technically a fullback but gets the same amount of carries as a running back. He really turned on late in the season after some injuries to some other running backs on the team including 213 yards against Bardstown in the region championship. And at 6-3 and 225 pounds he is a absolute load to bring down.

That 15 point game was the difference for me. I thought Beechwood all year and then I bought into the hype I would say the Boyle Co win is the one that made me switch up. Oh well win some lose some.

Couple of even stranger things to me was Belfry being ranked below two other 3A teams and Evangel Christian being ranked ahead of 20-30 schools and they never even played a game did they.

If this was supposed to be a down year and they still win the championship imagine what the future holds.

I told everyone Russellville would compete they had a heck of a team and a great season. Congratulations to Pikeville on the championship.

I think Russellville will keep it close up until about the fourth quarter and then Pikeville will pull away and win by a couple touchdowns.
