Yea I would hate to be the person that would have to tell a school like DeSales that they didn't make the playoffs.

I know im beating a dead horse. But DeSales had open dates and tried to schedule both CAL and Mercer and they both declined to play. DeSales should not be penalized for losses when CAL and Mercer were scared to play.

CAL sure did a lot of maneuvering and backing down to play district foes in the regular season just to host a playoff game. Hope it pays off for them. They lost some respect for what they did.

Well DeSales tried to reschedule with Mercer and CAL and both did not want to play. So I guess CAL should of played and earned that spot.

Yea I understand to a point but being a district opponent I would think teams should make every effort to reschedule if possible.

Its sad that when a game gets cancelled in 3A and a team tries to reschedule cancelled district games and the 2 teams AD's don't wont to make them up because a loss will hurt their RPI so close to the end of the season. Its unfair to the kids who haven't played in 2 weeks that no one wants to play them because of RPI. The 2 teams should be ashamed of themselves of skirting the challenge!

DeSales vs Meade Co. is now cancelled. This is getting stupid now!

What does not playing a game accomplish? you can still practice, you can still play this weekend, you can still play if in the playoffs. What effect will this have? It just seems political to me, that they are doing something even if it doesn't reduce the risk just to say they did something. If it is truly about the safety of the kids and because Jeff is in the 'Red" they should shutdown immediately! All other decisions are for show!

DeSales cant catch a break! This is the 4th cancelation this season. They have played only 1 district game.

This game is not happening. DeSales is in COVID quarantine.

Example of what is happening to Desales. They are on a 2 week quarantine so that means they will have played just 1 district game all year. There is a shot that they could be the 5th seeded team in district and miss the playoffs. How messed up would that be that the #1 team in class misses the playoff because 1 kid on the team tested positive

Yea example of PT cancelling a trip to play DeSales for so called COVID worries and then turn around and schedule a lesser opponent the same week. CAL cancelling game against DeSales and gets the 1-1 tie points. If season ends now #1 in BP Poll DeSales will have to travel every playoff game.

I agree. Im just glad they are playing. DeSales game last week was cancelled due to PT not wanting to play so a 2 week layoff would of really hurt playoff preparations and killed their momentum. Its a win for both programs no matter the final score!

Does anyone know why this came was dropped? They were originally scheduled to play Oct 2.

It is absolutely crazy that they would suspend season for 2 weeks for 1 kid testing positive. Monitor for symptoms and continue on!

This. We need to stop treating a "positive" as the end of world. Kids will get it. Move on

If everyone keeps treating a positive result in a kid as a death warrant we will never play sports again, anywhere anytime. Isolate a known positive if you have to and then react and monitor for symptoms in the others. If we don't start reacting and treating this like we do the seasonal flu (for kids) football is over. 2 years ago we had the flu ravage through my sons team taking out 7-8 kids for a week, the team played through it and no one batted an eye.

Updated Desales schedule came out yesterday. Stx and Butler out due to delayed start. Picked up South Oldham last game of the year. Nice pick up with SO will be good tune up prior to playoffs. It was noted that they have no JCPS on the schedule. So if JCPS decides to cancel football it will not effect them.

So your saying 95% of the people who are admitted to the hospital have permanent heart damage? Were is this info coming from? Im sure the media would be reporting this like crazy if true.

Not sure whats going to change between now and spring? The virus will still be here and they all keep telling us every positive can lead to a death. So what happens in the spring when a player tests positive? Either we decide to push on now or it will never happen

Even with a vaccine people will still get the corona. Eventually we have to decide to stop living in fear and move on.

I listened to a parent update call yesterday that was going over the precautions that the team will be taking starting next Monday. They were all in good faith and trying to meet all the requirements but having kids keep 6ft apart, wearing masks in between drills, one kid at time through drills, wiping everything down after every drill and touch, etc... is just crazy! The coaches will be spending more time babysitting these requirements then actually coaching. You could tell the coaches are really thrilled about it too. It will be like herding cats out there on the field. Also they mentioned about if the first 2 games are cancelled KHSAA should really look at the RPI ratings for seeding this year. A lot of the teams schedule tough out of district games early that really drive the RPI. So if you miss out and have a weak district your playoff seeding could really take a hit
