I'm lodging a grievance against the RPI for having DeSales #15 in 3A. Seriously flawed on that one.

Where DeSales gets hurt is the WP component of the RPI. They have wins over Cooper and Henry Clay, which are nice since the Colts get a RPI bump for beating schools from larger classifications. But they've lost their other 2 games and get 1/2 win and 1/2 loss for the 3 covid cancellations. If they can beat Meade and South Oldham, they will make a move up the rankings.

I think this covid calculation of one win and loss penalizes them for something out their control and teams with no or less covid cancellations get rewarded. Fortunately this will just be one year.

Frederick Douglass is going in reverse. I guess they better blowout Scott Co. this week to get some respect and move up. It will be interesting to see where teams end up in this final RPI. These #1seeds might be playing some very tough teams in the regional finals.

So Bourbon goes in the red and Boyle drops from 1st. to 4th. in the RPI because they couldn't find a game last Friday.  Which means they travel to Corbin in round 3 and Johnson Central round 4 as it currently stands.

A 1 point win has the same effect as a blowout win in RPI calculations.

Boyle's drop was the first thing that jumped out to me as I was putting this together. I'd love to tell you that they'll be fine as long as they win their last two games, but I couldn't say it with much confidence.

Hopefully! :classic_blink:

Douglass won 29-0 over a 5A district opponent in only 10 minutes of game time and dropped .2209. I think Montgomery Co. RPI actually went up.

Let’s say the winner of round 3 as it currently stands Corbin or Boyle, wouldn’t that winner of that game get separated from J C because they combine the East and the West in round 4 and the way I was looking at it, it would be a Corbin/Boyle vs a possibe Central/Franklin in round 4, because JC has the top RPI and they would play a 4 seed in round 4. That’s what happened last year to have a all East finals JC vs Boyle. Only difference this year is JC looks to have the top spot so far. I may be wrong though.

You are correct.  As it currently stands  1 JC, 2 Central, 3 Corbin, 4 Boyle.    Round 3 if the higher seeds won out in the East would be Boyle at Corbin, Holmes at Johnson Central.

Round 4 would re-seed the entire state.   1. JC, 2 Central, 3 Corbin/Boyle (winner), 4 Russell Co,   That would be Russell @ JC and Boyle/Corbin@Central.

I’m also hearing Central has chosen to not play the last two weeks of the season and that will change up the seeding for the 4th round as it stands possibly to a Johnson Central vs Central matchup possibly.

Not sure how Holmes dropped after beating Scott friday night, they only have one in state loss to the current number one rpi team Louisville Holy Coss, this is so confusing.
